Nov. 20th, 2007 09:04 amMonday night TV commentary:
You know, from last week's previews, I figured that the package was going to be Bryce's body and I was right. Though given Casey's comment "Didn't I kill him?", I guess its common knowledge that he killed Bryce and Sara doesn't care? I guess they thought Bryce is a traitor, but you'd think there'd be more tension over that. Then again, I guess they wouldn't know Casey shot him the way he did.
Oh, and I know I'm nitpicking a meaningless plot point, but was the implication that Lou's ex had more than just that one box of imported meats for her? Because if she's running a samich shop, I would think she'd be needing to smuggle more than a handful of salamis to make it worth it. I guess if they came semi-regularly. Anyways, looks like they made it so they could bring her back if they want to.
All in all, an amusing ep. Morgan's all depresso because Chuck's had not one but two hot gfs, so he tries to make a play for Anna, who shoots him down, but then feels sorry for him, and they hook up. Then when Chuck breaks up with Lou, Morgan dumps Anna so they can be lone wolves again, before Chuck can say he's back with Sara. So I guess he looks like a big prick now. Anyways, of course, Chuck's looking up that there is a future with Sara, so that of course is when you find out that Bryce is in the box and back alive somehow. I figured he'd somehow show back up.
Weird, watching re-runs of Crossing Jordan right now, they've just had back to back eps, one with Sylar, and the other Angela Petrelli. Oh wait, I forgot Crossing Jordan was done by the Heroes guy. I still find it weird that CJ was made by the guys who did Heroes and Lost, yet it never reached either level of success.
Where to start? Let's go with Hiro. Hiro goes back in time to save his dad, but in going to the past, figures from his dad and young Hiro that he shouldn't try and play god. He sticks around to discover who killed his dad, and to no surprise its Adam/Takeo. I mean, its a surprise to Hiro, but I think the audience had figured it out by now.
Matt figures out he can now Jedi mind trick people, accidentally using it on Molly first (which, kinda creepy!) then his boss to allow him to question Mama Petrelli. So he forces her to tell him everything, including the identities of everyone in the picture. She's all "You've become your father!" and he gives her a nose bleed trying to figure out who the last chick is in the picture. She says she'll never tell, and we don't see her tell, but later we see Matt has that chick's name. So I guess he was able to get it out of her?
I'm guessing he never reached this level of potential in Five Years Later? Matt's power used to be useful, but not great, but with this I think he's up there now in terms of power. Can Peter reach this level of potential as well? Mind control has always been up there in my list of favorite powers, along with telekinesis, super-speed, and invisibility.
Anyways, The Bennetts plan to run, except for Claire who tells HRG she hates him and leaves him to find West. The only confusing thing I find about this storyline, didn't she know he did all these things already and got over it last season? Why is she acting all surprised about the West thing? Is she gonna do this time every time she has a new boyfriend who was abducted by HRG in the past? She tries to apologize to West, but he needs time to think it through.
Meanwhile the Company makes a play for Claire's blood. Since Niki's gone, Bob gives Mo a new partner, Elle. I'm curious if she's Bob's biological daughter, or if its like Claire and HRG and he's her adoptive father. Anyways, HRG calls Mo to find West's location, and they see this a golden opportunity to separate him and Claire. Unfortunately for them, West finds HRG first and flies him up in the air and threatens to drop him unless Noah tells him the truth. HRG tells West that it wasn't a trick and Claire must care for him. They land, and Mo calls HRG with a fake location for West. Since West is with him, HRG figures its a trick.
So, he goes to the meet, and West takes out Elle and they capture her. They get her all wet (heh!) since she ends up shocking herself if she tries to use her power. Bob meanwhile captures Claire and gets a vial of her blood. HRG calls Bob to trade for Claire. Of course, during the trade, Elle's no longer wet and in a bucket of water, so I'm not sure what's stopping her from taking them out. They also stupidly speak of their plans in front of her for some reason.
The plan is to have West fly Claire to safety, but again, since Elle is no longer wet, and knows their plan, when West flies Claire away, she shocks them out of the sky. HRG shoots and wounds her, and Bob goes to protect his daughter. He's about to shoot Bob in cold blood when Mo shoots HRG in the eye, fulfilling the last of the paintings. West flies Claire to safety.
Heh, given what Adam did for Nate, I was laughing to myself that wouldn't it be ironic that West flew Claire to safety when her blood might've been able to save HRG. But in the end, the Company actually does use the sample they already had to bring him back to life! I'm not sure how I feel about that. It seems like a lot of fans would've rioted if he was dead dead, but then again, its kinda lame when people don't have to worry about staying dead.

Date: 2007-11-20 10:13 pm (UTC)And I was infuriated when I went to delete the episode just now that the description actually refers to Noah Bennett as "H.R.G." Bunch of retards.
