Still feeling kinda blah as a side effect of my meds. Ugh. Owel, did get the major project I needed to get done at work done before the weekend, so that's a load off my mind. Just need to get through the next few days and I'll be at the parentals for the holidays.

TV commentary:

On Smallville, I'd feel sorry for Clark if he didn't already have a great mother who's still alive!! I know Lara is his real mother and all, but he's acting like he's never known a mother's love.

And young editor is really Julian?! I think they messed up there, because given past eps, I don't think Julian is old enough to be how old the portray him to be.

Oh, last night's D:TNG was about Manny's Debut. Well, I assume its spelled "Debut" even though they pronounced it day-boo, because there was that one Filipino movie called "The Debut". I keep forgetting her character is a Filipina. Despite all the chick cousins I have, I don't think I've ever seen one of these "debuts". Mebbe the family is too Americanized? The closest I can think of is Jennie-Jeanie's sweet 16, but that's a sweet 16. And supposedly the "community" showers them with money at these debuts? Is this only in Canada? And apparently wherever Degrassi is has a big enough Filipino community to have a big Filipino community center?

But heh, they had to include the fact that we Filipinos love karaoke, as in the beginning her parents were all, "Why don't you like the party, there will be karaoke!"

So on FNL, Santiago is a homeless urchin? Heh, are he and Buddy's storyline gonna turn into a whole thing where he finally gives Santiago the home he's never had, and Buddy learns to be a better father? One of the issues I have though is when Tami was all, you just want to get him on the team! I would believe that more if he was actually any good. I mean, he seems to be athletic, but they portrayed him as being a far cry from being "great".

Also homeless? Tim, because his brother and next door chick are getting closer. He crashes on Tyra's couch for 48 hours, and after the deadline, he moves into some weirdo guy Tyra's sister knows to take care of the guy's ferrets. I mean, how creepy did that guy look? Like some sort of sex offender!

Tyra and Lyla (wait, she still goes to school? I was assuming since we never her saw her there once this season that she gradulated with Jason) are recruited by Tami to come up with a skit for Pantherama. This includes the two nubile young hotties marching into the boy's locker room to get them to sign up. (I think I saw a porno that started like this!) Anyways, they choreograph a dance number where the boys strip down to their underwear, and I think Tami is overly scandalized by the whole deal. I mean, they were all wearing boxers and the rest of the community seemed to take it in stride. Well, its not like Coach and Mrs. Coach rose a stink, just their faces at the whole scene seemed a little bit much compared to everyone else.

Julie, meanwhile, is crushing on her new journalism faculty adviser. What is it with chicks and their journalism teachers? Anyways, Tami sees what's brewing though and is watching. I don't think this will be anything more than a crush, because of all the students you'd try and get with, the daughter of the head football coach and guidance counselor who truly wants to help the kids who used to date QB1 would be a really dumb choice.

Speaking of going after older people, Matt has his cute new head cheerleader gf, but now he's macking on the nurse? I mean, she helps him with the dance routine, and then he thinks he messes up when he kisses her after Pantherama (she's hot, but don't you already have a hot gf, Matt?!), so the next morning he's worried it'll be awkward, but she seems receptive and he's all smiles. I keep forgetting how crappy his life has been and how rare it is to see him smile.

Oh, his new gf had helped him buy a crappy old car. Well, she knows cars, so its crappy looking, but it seems to work. But I guess he had to get a car because Landry's now carless? How did they explain that, who would steal Landry's old POS?

Its also recruitment time in Dillon, so we get a Smash trying to get recruited storyline. His mama's all "get an education" and he wants to go to the pros as fast as he can and make some serious bank. Honestly though, don't they say, barring injury and stupid money spending, if he's as talented as they make him out to be, his choice of route would work better?

In any case, those storylines always freak me out. It seems like those rules are so easy to accidentally break. I mean, cars, phones, concert tickets, that's all obvious. But sitting at a restaurant and the recruiter picking up the tab? Moneys changing hands there, I guess. It just seems kinda sleazy to me for a recruiter to risk a HSers career for a lunch tab. And I guess its all confusing because I would think they wouldn't want their prospective recruit to run into such issues before they actually get them. So how does it work, they try their best to "bribe" these kids without getting caught, and if they do they try to fight it? Or does it not matter as long as the kid goes to their college? Wouldn't that be bad for the kid going into college football though?

Anyways, Mrs. Smash reminds Coach that Smash has no dad to help him out with these sort of things so Coach looks out for him and stops him from making one of these mistakes.

The only Street we get is them referencing Street to Smash and how he could end up like him so he should get an education, but storyline wise, I think it would be a little silly if he also got career ending crippingly injured.

I wasn't allowed to have a party, unless it was a big affair, so I didn't have a sweet 16... My Mom then said it would have been a big group thing with other 16 year olds and cotillion type thing. Just be happy we and TC didn't have one, you'd probably be our partners.
