Even though class let out early yesterday, it still took me 20 minutes to get off frickin' campus! How does it take that long to drive 2 blocks?! Anyways, when to the market, and got something that I thought was cajun mustard but was really cajun mayonnaise. I was actually wanting a mustard, but hey, I like mayo!

Thursday night TV commentary: (cut for spoilers)

Looks like another Joss office. I was amused by the ep, but was it me, or did it seem somewhat odd, like it took place in some sort of alternate universe? And when Karen gave Jim a talking to, his responses sounded very Xander-ish?

The odd thing I found about last night's Scrubs was Turk was talking about his video game having "space goblins", which made me think it was a made up game. But then Carla is all, "hop in the Warthog" and talks about "killing Jackals", which is a Halo thing. Obviously, they weren't actually playing Halo.

And is it weird that even though Elizabeth Banks (I've like totally forgotten her character's name) is supposed to be all sweaty and gross looking because she's giving birth, I thought she was looking pretty mad cute in the ep? Though I guess I'm referring to scenes before she was actually pushing the baby out.

So Kara's playing spy in Washington trying to break into the department of Domestic Security to get her crystal back. Unfortunately, someone has beaten her to stealing it, but they grab her anyways. They hook her up to some weird memory viewing machine and inject her with kryptonite, because that's how it works. The guy made it sound like it was an improved version of a machine seen in a previous episode, but the ep isn't coming to mind.

Anyways, we see she had been to Earth once before, and that there were portals from Krypton to Earth. WTF?! Anyways, we see Supe's birth mom, played by Helen Slater, in a bit of stunt casting. Are they like gonna cast anyone ever involved in a Superman related tv show or movie? Anyhoo, Lara, as she's called, wanders around the Kent farm to see what the family who's gonna raise her son is like (while they're off at church) Kara follows her and they talk and Kara takes a polaroid of her, which they secretly slip behind Martha's picture frame. But then her dad Zor-el shows up, and we find out he's in love with Lara and he took her DNA and put in in a crystal, and then when Kara confronts her dad on his lecherousness, he erases her memory of the whole Earth visit.

Clark goes to rescue her, but is weakened by all the kryptonite around, and its Lionel who ends up saving both of them. In the end, it appears Lionel may have stolen the crystal, as when Lex (another suspect in the crystal stealing) went to Washington to confront Domestic Security guy the night the crystal disappeared, the jet he was going to use to get there was being used by Lionel. But then we see Clark secretly showing the crystal to Lana saying it has his mom's DNA in it! What the? Did Lionel steal it and give it to Clark?

Oh, there's this a quick scene where Chloe learns Lana's running some krypto freak help center, and Lana tells Chloe not to tell Clark because he'll get overly worried, but Chloe can tell she's lying. Oh, and as usual, we get our usual Chloe gets kicked in the mud quotient when Kara goes on a lunch date with Jimmy, so when Chloe sees him all, "We can still be friends, what are you doing for lunch?" and he indicates he's about to go to lunch with Kara, she's crushed. Of course, she's saying it just a friend thing, and he was all, "Oh, its not like a date, she's just a friend", why couldn't she join them, if they're all friends?

My favorite bit of "the writers aren't even trying anymore" in this ep was when Clark was asking Lionel for help to see if he could reach out to his "Washington contacts" to learn something about the Office of Domestic Security. I'm sure one of Lionel's contacts in Washington is your mother, you big dumb superfreak! Like didn't Martha just move to Washington (did she become an actual senator of the US, not just the state, or is it some other government gig?) I'm sure she could help!

She's a congresswoman of some sort, but I forget if she's a Senator or Representative.
