Oct. 7th, 2007 11:04 amLast night, went with the roomie to 5 Seasons Brewery for
psyched_out's kid's b-day. Their respective families were there, as were ND,
zarathrustra94 and
turdburgler and H & M. (Which color me surprised about a certain something!) Anyways, it was good eating, a nice variety of food (they have a pretty good and diverse menu). Too much food in fact. I wanted to stop eating dessert, but I also didn't want it to go to waste. I had been here with S&S before, but I was trying to remember when. Then I saw up front there was a 6 Degrees with Michelle Ryan on the cover. I still have an old ish with Piper Perabo on the cover that I got last time I was there, and its apparently the 8/06 issue. So I guess a little over a year?
Isn't it strange how much more time can pass in the dream world? Like I said, my mind's always in frickin' overdrive when I'm dreaming. I don't know if its because I watch too much TV and movies, but had three major plotlines last night that I kept switching back and forth. The first was following some elite military unit based off an aircraft carrier. There was something about a couple of disgruntled maintenance workers wanting to do something at some dinner party event held on the aircraft carrier. And then there was an oil rig being held by terrorists who had back up from a Mi-24 Hind helicopter and a small armed naval vessel and the team trying to get on board.
Plot line two revolved around a hospital that got quarantined because some crazy doctor lady injected some kid with some weird disease that quickly became virulent and contagious. I (or the character I had been following) was immune to the disease, so I could come and go. The third plot had to do with BtVS. There was something about failing to retrieve an amulet or perform some ritual that would cure or un-vamp this Goth-y Japanese girl. So she was being locked in a room because she was a danger to everyone else. I went to visit her to apologize, and there's like a line drawn on the floor which marked off the closest I could stand that she couldn't get to me and attack me. She talked all normal though, albeit seemingly a little sick.
Owel, I wish my dreams were more mundane. Why not something just weird and nonsensical that's not so intensive? But its always save this, fight that, solve a mystery. Sleep is for resting!
Anyhoo, with my WO-addiction, I had to move the PS2 to the poker room so as to not to hog the main TV since I'm playing it all the frickin' time. Had to do a bit of re-wiring, as the component cable inputs were being taken up by the cable box. But both the box and TV could do HDMI, so I ordered a cable from Newegg (since Best Buy only sells the expensive-ass $60 ones) and hooked the box up that way. Holy crap, that is one crisp looking picture now. The real great thing though was I realized I could do PIP again, especially since neither video input went through the receiver. I do have to move the box around depending what part of the game I'm at. But its especially useful since I can play my games and catch up on TV at the same time. Like Friday, I still had the Unit, 30 Rock, and My Name is Earl on the DVR. So put that on the PiP box and watched that as I played. I know, I'm totally insane.

Date: 2007-10-08 12:45 am (UTC)You did know about us though, right? I could've sworn (no, actually I do swear) that we told you at Roy's, but your roomie had apparently forgotten if so judging from what S said to me last night...
We were afraid that we had really short-ordered everything and that everyone would still be hungry, so its a bit of a relief to hear that people did eat alright - of course everything was brought out in front of you anyway so you'd be the last to complain...
And now that you're not traveling anymore and we are home for good now, we'll have no excuses not to get together more often...

Date: 2007-10-10 03:33 am (UTC)As for the listening in thing, in my defense, there was background noise! Plus, I can only do that freaky zero in on conversation even if its across the room thing if no one's talking to me at the time, and I might've been talking to
