The roll of the cinnamon
Apr. 19th, 2007 02:01 amGot Sam and Dave's for dinner when the usual suspects came over. That's some good eatin'. Oh, and I was re-watching Smokin' Aces, and I didn't realize that one security guy with the really bad toupee and moustache was Matthew Fox! (Or if I did, I've totally forgotten) Seriously, HA!!! I mean, I knew there was something familiar about the character, but I didn't think it was him. Heh, that hairpiece and moustache are as bad Peyton Manning's in the one commercial.
So, on Lost, Desmond takes Charlie, Hurley and Jin on an island adventure. Unfortunately, he has a vision that Charlie gets arrowed in the neck (which they show like a jillion times throughout the episode!) but is purposely following the path he sees because in the rest of the vision, he finds Penny on the island, having parachuted from a crashed helicopter. He saves Charlie in the end, and finds the parachutist, who you could tell since they drew it out so long that it wasn't going to be Penny. Instead, its Nessa from Vegas. But she seems to know Desmond. And a pack (presumably of hers) they found has the other copy of that picture he carries around of he and Penny tucked in a foreign language version of Catch-22.
Its a Des flashback, where we found out he was once a monk, joining the monastery after leaving a fiancee at the altar. He gets drummed out of the monks after the head of his order says its not his calling. Said monk also has a pic in his office of himself and ring shop lady! What the?! Anyways, on his way to leave, he meets Penny for the first time.
The B-plot is Kate getting all jealous over Jack and Juliet and frakking Sawyer for it. Sawyer figures it out, but like he cares! Kate's effin hot, so he's perfectly fine with being used by her like that.
So the men of Jericho return early, with only some of the windmills. Nether Eric nor Heather are with them. Jake co-opts Hawkins to help investigate the matter. We find out new Bern doesn't actually like Jericho too much. They're worse off, particularly since Jericho never warned them about Ravenwood. Jake soon learns their sheriff/mayor Constantino is trying to blow smoke up his ass about Eric and Heather, claiming Eric is just in a mood, then Heather found him and they were on their way back to Jericho "right now". But one of Heather's friends surreptitiously lets them know he thinks something's up, and they capture Constantino's replacement and Hawkins scares him into revealing the truth.
They check the factory and find that New Bern's investigated Jericho pretty thoroughly and have even gone as far to divying it up and are building munitions. And Constantino's got the propagnda machine going, telling the townspeople Jericho's hoarding food, siccing Ravenwood on them, parading the captured Green brothers around and claiming they were sent there to sabotage the place. Lucky for them, Hawkins is still loose.
Oh, and Heather dead? Off-screen?! BS! Ah'm skeptical. I can't believe they'd get rid of a character that way. Then again, maybe the actress got tired of not getting anything to and quit? And this is how they write her off?
Ha, is Jimmy's story every week to skirt around some major secret and almost figure it out, then by the end he comes up with some other explanation and he remains blissfully ignorant? This time, he sees Sam has been making some pretty macabre drawings, and Darcy worries he'll find out about the whole Allison killing Sarah and Hawkins not being who he says he is. But nope, Jimmy just chalks it up to natural child like fear to the whole apocalypse thing.
Mayor Dad helps out Mary, who's all sad because Eric didn't come back. Mother, is of course pissed, because she still doesn't like Mary.
Stanley comes home to find Sean lives with them now. Wow, that Sean guy is a moron. Get up the internet? He's a vibe guy? Stanley is correct in wanting to kick his ass! He is also right to wonder what Bonnie sees in him if she knows he's such an idiot. In any case, Mimi manages to convince him that kicking Sean out prolly wouldn't be the smartest thing and might cause Bonnie to run off with him. And Bonnie seems to really love him, so Stanley's willing to give Sean a chance.
And seriously, what's with Skylar and Dale slowly becoming the new power players? "Friendly" New Bern guy wants to make a deal with Skylar to seel her salt, but Gray won't let her do that because technically her parents are still alive and she's a minor and has no right to it. But Skylar makes the deal anyways and New Ber guy stations his men at the salt mine first to prevent Gray from stopping the deal. Then he tells Gray that the deal would be a good thing, because he knows about Constantino's plan, and he's trying to help Jericho out.
