Was actually a busy night of work last night. Moved a hub and had to re run the cables for 18 different machines. So that took a while. Anyways, I should be asleep right now as I have to wake up early (well early for this schedule, i.e. 3pm) But of course the fact that I have to get up early means I can't go to sleep. Owel, its my weekend anyways.

Well, its Ash Wednesday, and I want to go to the 5pm mass so it doesn't interfere with any dinner plans. But yea, with today being Ash Wednesday, its the beginning of lent, which means having to deal with one of my pet peeves, non-catholics busting my chops on what they think I should give up for lent. Its not a frakking vote, and besides, it bugs me when people are trying to use my religion to make me miserable. Anyways, I've always thought Father M at the Catholic Center at Tech always had a good idea with his "giving up time" thing. I mean, giving up sweets or soda or whatever, makes it seem like its some burden you have to get through because of doctrine. But giving up time and like taking even just half an hour a day for prayer, it turns the experience into a more positive thing. This way, you're actually focusing on the religious aspects as opposed to just wondering when it will all be over so you can get back to having whatever you gave up.

Of course, with the constant freak outs a few months ago and despairing and stuff, I had actually copied the family and started praying the rosary daily to give my self a sort of spiritual uplifting. I guess I can devote more time, like do all three mysteries instead of just the one.

But since time is such an intangible, I could supplement it by making like Josh Hartnett in 40 days and 40 nights. Well, and actually follow through with it! (Like I'd be in danger of failing!)

Anyways, I was looking up Ali Larter on youtube the other day out of bordeom, and saw this old commercial. Back when I was a horndog teen, I thought that commercial was so hott! Its like "woah, hot nekkid chick with the naughty parts covered up with black bars!" I mean, I remember the commerical fondly, I just didn't realize that was Ali Larter. And its not like I didn't know who she was before Heroes! Of couse, it was also a while before I learned RLC was the chick in that one "this is your brain on drugs" commercial where she smashes up the kitchen. (And fun trivia fact, both guest starred on multiple episodes of 2nd season DC, Ali playing Kristy Livingstone, the hot blonde Pacey had a crush on before dating Andie, and RLC playing Devon, soulful college girl playing Joey's analog in Dawson's movie.)

Finished up last night's ep of SVU this morning.
Would child services really hand over the child to a guy who's not the biological father and is a reformed drunk with a gambling problem and being a drug mule to pay off his death? Yeah, they sent the real father up for custodial interference, but wouldn't the grandmother have a good chance of getting the kid if they got a good lawyer?! Its not like she played a part in kidnapping the kid other than harping on her son to get his son. A lawyer can argue it was just talk and she did nothing wrong.

Anyways, it was a little weird. I mean, even though the guy who thought he was the father is staying sober and going to meetings for his alcoholism and gambling, aren't they forgetting that he just testified against drug dealers who threatened to kill his family? Is the child really safe?

Owel, it was also lame that Eliot had no idea what the kinship DNA test results Liv had Warner do were for! I mean, I thought they were really good friends. When Warner brought up the whole idea, and Liv was all, "You can do that?!" Its like, she wants it done so she can figure out who her father's family was! ojv('Man, its obvious!') So you'd think he'd be suspicious she'd do it then. But then Warner gave him the test results to give to her, he's all, "What are those for, you don't have any cold cases!" Mebbe its because I had seen an ep earlier (the one with Chong's son from the Matrix) where she's all worried about her genes because she was fathered by a rapist. But they've had multiple eps where a suspect's father was a vicious rapist and/or murderer and she spends the ep moping that she's a bad seed. So its a little silly for Eliot to not know the reasoning for the test results immediately.

Heh, I knew exactly what commercial you were talking about before I looked at your youtube link. I had always thought she was totally hot in that when I was a teen too.

ah, hope i didn't make you feel uncomfortable with my remark on my post - that dinner affected me in very strange ways - when you eat way more than you know you should, it seems to set off some weird behavior...

when people ask you what you're giving up, tell them "answering your dumbass question"...

Heh, I figured you might think you offended me! But no, what you said was no big deal. I was actually referring to specific incidents by other people in the past.
