Ah well, its almost the end of another weekend. At least its warmed up some. Owel, had the usual suspects over last night for food and drinking and a viewing of Beerfest. Not much was added to the uncut version. And looking at the deleted scenes, they were wise to make the changes they did. Their original Oktoberfest thing was lame compared to what they had in the movie. Also lame was "Finkelstein's postition". Its still a pretty hysterical movie though.

Just started watching Freaks and Geeks. Why had I not watched this show before? Its actually pretty cool. And just the kind of show I would watch. Was I living under a rock or something?

Friday night TV round-up:

A sad ep of Galactica. They killed off Kat! Dammit, she was one of my favorite characters. Cocky little bad-ass, kinda cute, nice rival for Starback. Anyways, the ep is about contaminated food and they need to get to some planet that has a lot of space algae that they could use to replenish their food stores. Unfortunately, the quickest way through it is to jump through a highly radioactive star cluster, and going around would take too long. So the plan is to have Galactica jump with a few ships, leaving skeleton crews on them, and taking the majority of the passengers into the much safer Galactica. The problem is, the civie ships, in addition to not being well protected by the intense radiation, their nav systems aren't rigorous enough to jump out once they jump into the star cluster. So, each ship has a Raptor guide that relays the coordinates to their nav computer.

Owel, turns out Miss Louanne Kataraine is not who she says she is, she's a drug runner named Sasha who took the name of a girl who died a couple of days before the attacks on the colonies. Starbuck finds out and torments her rival, going as far to say that she's partially responsible for the attacks on the colonies, as the human cylons prolly snuck into the colonies hitching rides with smugglers like her. Kat asks her to hold off until she can tell Adama herself. Anyways, they lose a couple of ships, and on the last run, even though Kat is already highly irradiated (even switching out her radiation badge for one belonging to someone not so irradiated so she can continue to go on missions), she stays even longer to find her ship, which was almost lost. She just wanted to be leave the criminal past behind and be a hero. And she was! She brings back the ship, lands on Galactica victorious, before collapsing from radiation sickness. Kara is sad, and Adama stays with Kat and gives her a speech about always wanting a daughter. (Jeez, Dualla, Starbuck, its like he tells everyone they're a daughter to him) Then she dies and Starbuck puts her picture in that weird picture wall of the dead and missing.

Oh, and on the Cylon front, Baltar figures out Three's crazy killing herself to see that place between life and death activities. He encourages her to continue doing so, as she sees the faces of the five missing models there, and he wants to know if he's one of them. Oh, and Baltar deciphers one of the Cybrid's weird babbling to mean they have to go to a certain planet to get a better clue to find the way to Earth. And the description is totally the same as the planet the colonists have just gone to. So I guess there's gonna be another tussle next ep.

it seems like these either my sense of humor has changed now that i'm no longer around in ATL, or the newer movies just aren't that funny to me.

i watched Beerfest last week and while i enjoyed it more than i did Club Dread, i was still disappointed with the movie. not enough really funny moments i thought.
