But winter "breezes" don't. Holy crap, the wind chill makes it feel like the single digits out there. What the frak?!

Thursday night telly round-up:

Yet another awesome ep of the OC last night. Its really too bad this is prolly their last season, and the show is good again. Owel, as I said before, if it is the last season and the quality stays, at least it goes out on a high note. And even though there are only 16 eps this season, the previous 3 had 25 to 26 eps, so it ends up having the normal number of eps for a show going on for 4 years.

Tonight's ep was extremely hysterical, but also nice and sweet. Where to start? Let's start with the adults. So Bullitt is pursuing Julie, who's disgusted by the sexist bigot. Heh, given he's their silent partner though, you'd think she'd be a little nicer to him. So she makes up some bull about having to go away with Sandy and Kirsten for some vow renewal ceremony, but Bullitt joins them. But not before getting his son and his friends to be potential dates for the female New Match customers. Unfortunately, Julie doesn't realize until later that they're gigolos! I'm sure that'll bite them in the ass later, but for now, things are good- Bullitt apologizes for being such an idiot at dinner with the three of them, but its only because he finds her so classy . (HA!) And he actually gets a justice of the peace to show up at the Cohen's so they can really renew their vows, which they do. (But there are no witnesses! You'd think they'd call one of their kids!)

It turns out Summer is suspended for Brown for a year. Che follows her back to Newport, as he feels horrible about the whole ordeal and handcuffs them together until she forgives him, as he considers her her "best friend" who really believed in what they were doing. Heh, meanwhile, Seth goes to Rhode Island to surprise her and check out his dorms- so he shows up at her room, and she at his and call each other wondering where the other is. Seth eventually makes it back to Newport and tells her he'll delay going to college until the fall so they can go back to Rhode Island together. Heh, at least now they have a convenient excuse for the two of them to be in Newport now. And we also find out Che is short for "Winchester" and he's one of those insanely rich kids who's being all hippie to rebel against their parents. Heh. I was hoping we'd get some Summer-Taylor interaction over her crush on Ryan, but alas, she was too busy dealing with Bright.

But with Summer back, the Cooper-Roberts household now has Julie taking care of three girls- Summer, Taylor, and Kaitlin. (Woah, that's one hot household!) People were a little skeptical of Kaitlin last year, that's she'd be this lame one-dimensional Marissa-rehash when she was made a full cast member, but thankfully that's not the case. They seem to have dropped the whole "I'm gonna rule harbor" thing Kaitlin talked about during last season's finale. Instead of being miss Popular, she's just doing her thing, smoking Js, hitting on older men, being a somewhat wild child, though she's not as dark or self destructively stupid as Marissa. She's a little more realistic troubled teen, her dramas aren't too over the top.

And they're doing the bad girl with the heart of gold thing- she decides to throw a wild party after seeing how the Queen Bee treated a couple of girls like crap and not inviting them to her party after slaving for her. I liked the interaction when Summer and Taylor tried to be all "you can't have a party!" and I hope we see more scenes with the three of them together now that they're all living in the same house. And not because they're all hot, the characters are all very sisterly. One of the funniest parts of the rager is Taylor being Taylor and trying to get all the kids to stop drinking and engaging immoral liasons to play something more wholesome like "Life" and then getting pelted with a water balloon for being a wet blanket.

Anyways, Queen Bee comes over since no one went to her party and everyone went to Kaitlin's and grovels and tries to pass the Queen Bee mantle to her, but all Kaitlin wants is for her to treat her friends better. Then, with that done, Kaitlin calls the cops on her own party, and nicely cleans the face of one of the drunk Ward bros, who had "I like poop" written on his face with sharpies as he was passed out. Looks like she's not as wild or self absorbed as her big sister,. I guess having her dad run away because he's an embezzelling idiot, and her sister dying due to the wild life she lived, and seeing her mom whore it up almost all the time, she's had to grow up fast. But she's at least she's making better choices then her sister did.

And finally, on to the Ryan/Taylor awesomeness. So, since their kiss, Ryan's having fantasies about Taylor all the time. He finally decides to ask her out, and Taylor's happy, but their date is totally awkward because he's not exactly ready to date even though he can't stop thinking about her. And then he's totally jealous when some guy named Roger is hanging out with her, but it turns out he was just some gay guy she promised some ultra rare action figure to if she'd hang around and make Ryan jealous. See, its light, and sweet, not as dark and angsty as R/M. I mean angst is good, but eventually you'd think it would be too much for either them to take. With Taylor, we see a happier Ryan. We've seen broody Ryan for three years now, its cool to see that maybe he can be a normal kid.

Anyways, Taylor tells Ryan she's not looking for marriage and forever, she thinks they should just take it slow for now, and just sees where it goes. I don't think she's asking for a casual friends with benefits thing, as some people think. I think she realizes they're very different, and he's definitely still getting over Marissa's death, so while things will be definitely awkward if they start giving each other promise rings and "going steady" or whatever, there's a middle ground between that and not dating at all. So it ends with them having a cute little scene, playing "Seven minutes in heaven" since Kaitlin's party was actually the first "high school" party she's ever been to. The seven minutes go up, but Ryan goes up saying how eight, nine and then ten minutes would be better- I would never imagine old school Ryan being like this, but it works!

Not much to say about this week's Smallville. In the A-plot some migrant worker kid who speaks perfect English despite being Mexican (he supposedly learned from watching a lot of TV) escapes from some neighboring farm where some meteor freak farmer has been keeping migrant workers as slaves. Clark exposes the guy by pointing the sheriff to the dead bodies buried on the farmer's land, so they try to arrest him, but he escapes with his meteor freak powers. Then later, he tries to jump Clark and the kid, and Clark rather anti-climatically beats the guy extremely easily. Then he and Chloe re-unite the kid (who knows Clark's secret now but will keep mum) with his mom and Martha pushes to get him citizenship.

Oh, and it turns out Lex was watching farmer guy, and in the end puts him with the rest of freaks in the new 33.1. Lana hasn't said yes to him yet, but it looks like she's slowly descending into evil. Heh, in the end, its like she only now realizes going out with Lex means she has access to his riches and power, and being rich and powerful is cool. She only now realizes this?! And what is up with the discordant music they play whenever they have Lex/Lana scenes now?

Oh, and its a good thing Jimmy's oblivious, or you'd think he'd be a little more worried about his relationship. He's thinking "CK" always runs off because he hates him because he's in love with Chloe, and Chloe's cover is all, "No way!" but it Jimmy was really listening, its obvious she's all, "I wish!" Better keep an eye on your girl there, jimbo!
