Sep. 19th, 2005 05:46 pmApparently, now I'm dating some chick named Roxanne. Yeah, I dumped Oxia, mainly because I'm not living in turn of the millenia Rome. (Though she did like going Greek. Ha!) But yeah, I shouldn't have bothered correcting them and try seeing how far I could have taken it. Let's see, she's this cute snowflake I met at church, thus fulfilling the parentals' desire that I date a nice catholic girl. She's pretty in that girl next door sort of way, with long brown hair, and the most amazing blue eyes. She's actually in the choir, but she doesn't think she's nearly good enough to sing outside of church, despite my encouragement. I had to drag her onto the stage when I took her out to Karaoke night at that bar near the house. I would say the patrons thought we did a great rendition of "Endless Love", though our attempt at Stevie Nicks/Don Henley classic "Leather and Lace" fell kinda flat. But that was my fault, I didn't know it as well as I thought I did.
She's studying biomedical engineering, and this is her last year. She worries she won't keep her 3.8 gpa. I keep telling her that there's just no way since she's a freaking genius. I haven't met her parents yet, but I know her family is from Greensboro. Her dad actually knows Ric Flair! They're also fairly rich, she just got a new Mustang. I'm an ass and let her do the driving because her car is way better than my ford POS. And at least she has a radio! Other random facts. She hates being called Roxy, and really hates when people say, "Roxanne, don't you put on your red light!" when they first hear her name. How's that for a background? I think it sounds believable!
isabel79, spread the word! ha!
And then after I've had enough of the family asking when they finally get to meet her, I can say we broke up because she was cheating on me! Like it all started when I went to her place to pick her up to see some movie one day, but she was running late at school, and wouldn't be there for another hour. Since I live like half an hour away, and traffic was crappy, and there's nothing cool nearby, her roommate Claire let me in, she kinda knows me. It was a little akward though, because we have almost nothing to talk about. And then Roxanne's younger sister Becky comes out of her room. I had heard she was visiting that weekend, but didn't know she was already there. She's 18 and took a year off after graduating to find herself, whatever that means. (Roxanne's words, not mine) Anyways, so Claire gets a call from her boyfriend Kevin, and takes it in her room. So now I'm stuck alone in the living room with Becky. I won't lie, she was pretty mad cute. After a few more minutes of akwardness, I turn on the telly and put it on Friends. Becky loves that show, so we finally have something to talk about.
An hour passes, Roxanne is still not there, and Claire's in her room doing who knows what. Anyways, Becky starts hitting on me. At first I thought I was imagining it as she moved closer to me, but as incredulous as it seems, she wanted me! I tell her I'm flattered and that she's a really great girl, and any guy would be lucky to have her, but I'm with her sister. So, she gets mad and starts telling me she heard her sister and Claire talking about this guy Josh. I'm all, you mean, Josh, her lab partner? She says she didn't know the details, but she thinks something was going on. Then Roxanne finally gets in and we leave for our date. I chose not to mention what her sister said at the time. I mean, I was skeptical. We were happy! Weren't we? And I don't know if it was my overactive imagination, sparked by what Becky said, but I started seeing signs and getting more and more suspicious. Then one day, when she said she was having another late study session with Josh, I finally was all, "You sure spend a lot of time with Josh", all accusatorily. Then we get into this huge fight and she admits, during one of their study sessions, they made out. And I was all, was it just making out, or do you love him? And she admitted she had feelings for him and then I just left. I drove off, and spent the next hour and a half just driving.
I avoided her calls for the rest of the weekend. Finally, I went to talk to her again after church. We decided to go to lunch and try to talk things over all civil like. She said she cares a lot about me, but she also likes Josh. They have so much in common and her parents really like him. And I was all, when did he get to meet your parents, I haven't even met her parents! So she tells me they just dropped by, passing through on the way to visit some relatives in North Florida, and Josh happened to be over studying. Then I go, are you embarrased of me? And she says no, but then she asks me where I see our relationship going. And I'm all Ida know, and she's all see, it just like me not to think about the future. And I'm all fine, I hope you have a great life with Josh then, since he's so perfect! Then I dropped a $10 for lunch and stormed out of there. And that's the end. And why did I spend the last hour making this up?

Date: 2005-09-19 11:11 pm (UTC)You won't need my help to spread the rumor. It will get around on it's own. What is it with our family!?! Surprised my little Mark thing didn't turn out like the Peter thing... Wouldn't have minded it either.
Brunette??? I'm surprised she's not blond...
