That was an interesting ep. The fact the Lindsay wasn't anywhere close to even drowning was hysterical! I mean, the previews for last week with her shoe washing on shore and Ryan frantically searching the water were all overly dramatic. So when they come back from commercial with Ryan being all "Lindsay! Lindsay!" and Seth is all, "What are you doing man?" and he's all freaked out the Lindsay drowned and Seth is all, "dude, she's right here!"? Ha! But anyways, the sitch was a little dumb, because Ryan is all Mr. White Knight in bad boy's (though not so much anymore, actually) clothing. Like he would leave his drunk girlfriend alone on the beach, especially having lots of experience taking care of alcoholics?!

Also retarded was Lindsay's jealousy of Marissa. Lindsay's way hotter than Marissa. And then being all "I like your clothes!"? Ida know, I never found Marissa outfits particularly great. Summer, on the other hand had lots of cute outfits, and Lindsay shoulda been coveting those. And I know some people on the forums were slightly on Marissa's side being all "Lindsay was the one who chose to drink". But she's an impressionable young girl, who's very intimidated by her bf's ex and thinking she's so great. What do they expect she'd do when "Miss cool" is all, "Want a hit from my flask?" Its not like in DC, when Andie stole the Ex that Jen had and didn't offer her. I think Marissa still deserves a lot of the blame.

Speaking of, it looks they're moving forward with the lesbian angle. A little out of the blue, though. I mean, I don't think she knows Alex all that well, so why jump in and save her from her ex-gf? And then in the end, when Alex is giving her the blanket, what was the demure look she all of a sudden gave? That was actually a little funny, it reminded me of Friends and Joey's first ep of Days of Our Lives, and he does the smell the fart technique and tells the lady her sister's medical problem and then is all, "How about we discuss it over coffee?" and then she gives him this come hither look? That was the same look! And what's with her not locking the door to her bedroom when she's gonna fool around? Didn't she already learn her lesson from her mother catching her with DJ?

Speaking of, so now they're referencing Full House? And then there was the Jem and the holograms ref. That's one thing I like about this show, all the various references to TV shows and movies and stuff, though its stuff from when I was young, and no way kids today know about half the stuff they talk about.

But getting back to the rest of the ep. This Zach guy is way too nice, and therefore boring. And the Water Polo team are suddenly sensitive guys who talk about sixth month anniversaries in locker rooms? I mean, if there was any talk of Summer in the locker room it would be more "heh" and "have you banged her yet" and all sorts of other lewd and lascivious things. I mean, what happened to the guys who kick Ryan and Seth's ass in the pilot? Its like Luke leaves, and all of a sudden they're nice guys.

And the whole thing with Alex's ex? Why couldn't Ryan tell Seth it was a girl? And what's with Seth freaking out over it? BFD! Does it matter? And its not gonna work out if he's gonna keep on getting intimidated by her "worldiness and experience". Eh, just hook back up with Summer when she inevitably dumps Zack, because you know that's where that relationship is headed. I mean, I know they hooked all the kids up with new people this year, but they could have made more than the Ryan-Lindsay relationship work. I mean, Marissa-DJ? Obviously using him to piss off mother. Seth-Alex? Just a phase, he only likes her because she seems so "kewl." Or as some forum posters say, she's a female version of Ryan. Though she isn't really. I mean, saying those two are alike would be a huge generalization. Summer-Zack? She's only into it because he's a lot like Seth without his supposedly annoying qualities. And he's the first guy really into her since Seth. And, he's not Seth. They never should've broken up in the first place.

The parental plotlines weren't as interesting as they usually were this week.

Man, they MUST know that people in our demographic love the OC. When Kirsten walked in on them, Lindsey and Ryan were making out to JOURNEY!

I'm not reading the rest of this because I haven't watched this weeks' ep yet. Totally on it sometime this weekend, though.

Heh, its cool that they do all these shout-outs to people in our generation (Tho I'm like almost half a decade older than you, I think, does that still count?), which I think make up a huge part of the demographic in addition to the teeny-boppers. Realistically though, half those shows and bands they talk about would've been off the air or broken up/unfamous by the time they were like 5 or 6. Then again, I think all of that stuff is on syndication like on TV Land and Nick at Nite and lots of radio stations have long blocks dedicated to 80s/early 90s stuff, so I guess someone their age coulda watched those shows and listened to that music.

But you didn't watch it last night? What kind of fan are you?!

Just watched the whole thing! But my preview for next week got cut off... but I'm sure there will be a little fun stuff with Cohen and the pretty lesbo ladies!

I agree that Zach is a little boring, but that's probably because he never has a chance to talk with all of Summer's rants about wolves and crap.

But I totally disagree with you about Alex and her just being "kewl!" She's awesome, and it's really sweet that she's all shy and smitten with Cohen and doesn't want to be typically girly about it. Though I will be cranky if she falls for Marisa over Cohen somehow, because I also agree with you that Marisa ain't all that. Esp. not the "hottest girl in the history of high school" or whatever the crap.

AND, one more thing! Full House was definitely still on when I was like 11, and I'm only.... eh, you're right they would have been like 5 or 6 then. But you could maybe watch Full House at 5 or 6! Michelle was little and funny enough for kids!
