Jan. 4th, 2005 09:20 amOwel, back in the ATL. Well, I've been back since Sunday. but I hadn't had occasion to write anything until now. The flight back to Atlanta went smoother than the flight up to NYC, as there was no delays and no luggage not being there. In fact, I was rather early, coincdentally bumping into
zarathrustra94 and mattm right as they got to the airport to pick me up. And the flight was packed full of mad cuties. Owel, since the remote to the DVD player in my room was lost, went to best buy with the gift card I got for X-mas. I was debating on whether to just get a pstwo (are those compatible with the DVD remote they makel?) since the DVD player is getting kinda old or just get a cheap universal remote. Then I thought, what the hell do I need another ps2 for?! I don't play enough to warrant getting another one, even though the new pstwos are pretty cool. And ehat happened to me. I haven't finished the last few games I bought, and am more content watching someone play than actually play. I mean, over the break, me brudder
sparkyboy wanted me to play the RE remake on the gamecube, but I was too lazy and just watched him play it instead. The changes between that and the original are pretty cool, but the addition of that lisa trevor is a little useless. I mean, it makes for some new scary moments, but they coulda done better with her story. I'm not gonna bother with spoiler space since that game is like a couple of years old, and its such a non-plot that I won't really be spoiling anything anyways. In your last encounter with her, you and Wesker are shooting it out with her, and you have to push these rocks off a cliff to open her mom's coffin, which she sees and is all "Mother?!" then she like jumps off the cliff and you never see her again. And then, you and Wesker aren't even "What's up with that?!" y'all just shrug your shoulders and he does his typical, "you go into that dark, ominous looking tunnel, I'll investigate things further here."
So, I just picked up a universal remote and the first two Mezzo discs. I know I saw the foreign version already, but I thought it had some cool action and the translation of the subtitles in the version I rented from Oxford was so poor that I didn't understand what was going on in more than a few eps. Especially the last few. Its like "why is that guy trying to kill them, and who the hell is he anyways?!" Went into work Monday, and I was feeling a little under the weather, but luckily it was an uneventful today. Everyone else was still on Holiday, and I didn't know the rest of campus was still off. But its a good thing. Got back, took a quick nap (or rather passed out) and then the roomie woke me up and saw the Aviator with him and
clevemire. It was on okay movie. But way too long. They prolly coulda cut down on the number of times he repeated himself whenever he would go into crazy mode and shave like five minutes off the film. And the one plane crash he was in made me think of that beginning OJ Simpson scene in the Naked Gun. And the scene where he interviews Faith Domergue made me think of that one Family Guy with Walt Disney- wdv('You wanna be a star, don't you?!'). So apparently filth rich eccentrics can basically buy a teenage girl?! Scandalous. I also learned that Katherine Hepburn talks quite strangely.
