Oct. 10th, 2004 09:04 amJust sitting here at work, surfing the web and watching the top 20 countdown on VH-1. They don't actually play all the videos though. Like they'll play some, and then they'll say "this video is at number twelve" and just show a clip of it! What the hell is the point if they don't actually show the video. The other guy isn't here, so I can sing aloud to the music. Speaking of singing, I was looking at the partial track listing for the Karaoke Revolution Volume 3 coming out this November:
ABC, Against All Odds, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Beat It, Burn, California Dreaming, Careless Whisper, China Grove, Come Cleen, Don't You (Forget About Me), Flashdance... What a Feeling, Hold On, I Got You Babe, If I Ain't Got You, In the Midnight Hour, Joy to the World, Killing Me Softly, Leave (Get Out), Love Shack, Meant to Live, My Immortal, New York New York, Oops I Did It Again, Respect, Shining Star, Take My Breath Away, Thank You. The Reason, Twist and Shout, Unchained Melody, Under Pressure, When I'm Gone, Why Can't I, You're the One That I Want
It already has some awesome songs with the classic ABC, Phil Collins' Against All Odds, Simple Minds' Don't You (Forget About Me), and Evanescence's My Immortal (awesome!). And that new duet feature sounds interesting. Though I did not think Under Pressure was conisdered a duet. Looks like they have a lot of recent stuff. And some old stuff like Respect. I thought multiple shows like Mad TV and In Living Color and the like have made jokes about people trying to sing Respect and how awful they end up sounding.
Had this strange dream last night. It was like an ep of Gilmore Girls, and I was following Lorelai and Rory around (though I wasn't actually there, it was like I was watching an ep of the show) and they were at the parents' house and they saw Emily sneaking off to meet some fancy looking people. And Lorelai was carrying a crossbow for some reason, and Kirk walks by as he had been shot in the butt with an arrow and was wondering if Lorelai was the one who shot him, but it was a different sized arrow. Later, Emily comes back, and the fancy looking people are hanging around, so Lorelai asks one of them what they do, and scandalously, one of them owns a high class brothel. And her bodyguard was this Tom Sizemore looking thugish dude. Anyways, Adam Brody is there also, and I actually appear and start talking to him, asking if he's reprising his Dave role, and he was all the OC folks let him do this, and I was all eggcited to find out this bit of inside scoop. Then the scene switches and I'm watching from above, as the X-men and their allies storm the mansion. After getting through some maze on the upper level of the mansion, they bump into Prof X, who challenges them all with this monster he called the Phoneix, but it wasn't like the Phoenix Force or anything. And they were supposed to get their ass kicked, but I thought to myself, I over-powered them, as if they were the characters in my current save in XML. So they kick its ass, and go to the next room, and hang out by this giant glowing save point. Prof X congratulates them, and then goes to talk to Emily. My dreams have th oddest combination of characters. I mean, X-men and the Gilmore Girls?!
