Oct. 1st, 2004 10:15 amDang, one bad thing about getting a new game that I'm into is getting caught up in it and playing real late. Stayed up a little past midnight leveling up in XML. I think I have more fun leveling up in a game than playing the actual story. That's prolly why I haven't finished TF and Onimusha 3. TF, there's no leveling, just collecting stuff to boost your powers. But finding those things usually takes a lot of effort! Onimusha 3, there are plenty of things to level, but the ratio of points to kills is very low. Then again, its prolly because they expect you to not buy the most powerful stuff until the end of the game, whereas I see a number to be reached and must reach it as quickly as possible. Anyways, before the roomie came home and made pad thai for dinner, I was a few exp from leveling up the characters I was going to be using for the next mission. Had dinner, watched Joey, was watching Smackdown, and then
phatjoe came over and he and the roomie watched the debate, so I went to my room and watched the tape of the most recent Veronica Mars that I recorded Tuesday but hadn't watched. I know, I'm so politically ignorant. After the debate, I thought, I have a few minutes, I can quickly get those guys to the next level. But then I thought, what the hey, I'll try one of the new danger room discs I picked up from the last mission. And I was getting double the XP of the board I usually play. So then I look at my characters, and see, "Well, if this is the amount of XP I'm getting, then I can quickly get these guys up before going to sleep." And thus, me being tired this morning.
Oh, my check from the insurance company came in. I'm still debating whether or not to fix my car. The COS position closed yesterday, but the boss goes on vacation next week, so they won't be interviewing for at least a week. And there's plenty of applicants, so it'll take a while before I know if I get it. But I don't wanna bother fixing the relatively minor damage on my car if I get a promotion and am looking to buy a new car anyway.
The Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex volume 2 DVD was supposed to come out this Tuesday, but I didn't see it at the mall. After work, I think I'll hit Best Buy, get it if its there, then I have to hit like Publix and pick up lunch for tomorrow, since I won't be able to leave campus because of the football game. Oh, and I must remember to get gas.

Just got the second disk of Ghost in the Shell SAC and it seems you
can't get the Japanese soundtrack without some kind of special
decoder. The first volume worked fine but this thing says you need DTS
or some such.

"... Apparently during "early" replication, the initial batches of the two discs (DTS and Dolby Digital) were mislabeled. The DD disc has the DTS show on it and vice versa. [...] Bandai and several retailers have learned of this quickly and some retailers are not shipping their stock and instead returning it ..."
