One thing about playing a game again is how time consuming they can get. Played it while doing laundry yesterday, then had dinner at Eat's. Which shouldn't have been crowded at the time we came if not for the fact a bunch of kids on a field trip came in. But woah, one of their teachers was a major hottie. The roomie said he noticed several of the male students ogling her. No big surprise, as she was off the hook WMC. But of course, kids will be kids. Though I guess they were prolly HS frosh. But yeah, these kids nowadays, giggly girls just standing there in the middle of the fucking main throughway talking about the latest hollywood cutie and what they'll wear to the box social. If you're gonna do that, sit the hell down and don't stand there blocking everyone. And juvenile boys playing Jesus Christ Superstar over and over on the jukebox. Though, what jukebox has JC Superstar on it?! (Not that it wasn't rocking! [livejournal.com profile] isabel79, don't you have that soundtrack?) Afterwards, got Krispy Kreme, watched Joey, and was gonna try to get past the level I was on before watching my tape of the latest OC special. Which I did never get to watch since I ended up playing the game for about two and a half hours. Which was nothing back in the day, but I've also got other things to do, and there's sleep. I just can't skimp on sleep like I used to.

Before dinner, was mostly running through the danger room over and over again to raise character levels since I was having trouble. I think I'm ahead of the curve/higher than I'm supposed to be. With that and the fact I heard on the boards that wolvie makes this game cake, I thought I was gonna plow through the current level after Joey. And it was easy for a while, but then I got my ass handed to me over and over again. Of course, that was prolly because I was playing stupid at that time, controlling wolverine and just charging in and having the rest of the x-men attack my targets. Note to self, don't employ this strategy against guys who are resistant to physical damage and have a lot of wide area stunning attacks. I finally switched off to cyclops and let the computer run wolvie, as the AI is pretty good, it doesn't get as dead as I do charging in. So, since cyclops has the leadership skill, there's a damage bonus to combos. So, I just hung back, and just had wolverine and rogue charge in (I also had iceman, but only because I need him to create ice bridges to get through certain parts of the level) and just fired off wide beam shots. Since the area is so big, the chance of me hitting the enemy while Rogue and Wolverine were doing a special attack was extremely high, so I was getting high damage combos and making quick work of the enemies. Of course, I was running into the problem of running out of energy and having to run around waiting for it to charge up again. But the teammate's AI was doing well enough that they weren't getting themselves killed. Though I realize now, I coulda stuck with Wolverine, and switched Cykes' AI to use wide-beam shot instead of the normal blasts. I think its smart enough to gauge its energy levels and do a better of job of balancing attacking and recharging than I can.

Owel, I think I'm near the end of this level, after I beat it, I'll prolly work on the other team members to catch their levels up. I wish the stats would just go up on their own. You have four stats, and you usually only get one a level (two at a multiple of five level) I mean, I guess certain stats make cents for some characters, like att and body for Rogue (since its powerful comic book X-men Rogue, who has invulnerability, flight and super strength in addition to her leeching abilities, as opposed to movie Rogue, which only has the leeching abilities.) or att and agility for wolverine. But someone like Cyclops? With my obsessive-compulsive nature, I end up doing it so the numbers are in some sort of pleasing pattern. Which might not be best overall. As for the powers, you can't get enough points to spend. Its also 1 and 2 at every 5. There's just so much to buy! Though some of their powers are crap. So it makes the spending a little easier.

Anyways, by the time it got to 11, I figured that was enough for the day. And I still hadn't read the "Your and My Secret" or whatever it was called that [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler lent me weeks ago. So I read it as I finished listening to the Frou Frou CD I bought earlier that day (hey, I thought the songs in the commercial for Garden State and the commercials for the GG season premiere sounded pretty good, so I went out and got the CD). As for the book, it was weird, but interesting. I enjoyed it. Not as much as I do Kare Kano or Hot Gimmick, but I'd like to see how it turns out.

The title song. I was gonna say I only know a few of the songs, but as I started listing what I knw, I kept on remembering more, so I guess I do know most of the soundtrack. Which is the song at the Last Supper?

The one where they're saying if they die they'll be remembered for writing the gospels. Actually I like the confrontation between Judas and Jesus best.
