Ah, what a mess. Due to a couple of peeps taking off for Dragon Con, coupled with a family medical emergency with another, I volunteered to switch to the night shift temporarily for the labor day weekend. The sucky thing is I don't end up getting any extra OT for it. Owel, I'm gonna stay up late tonight, then head to work straight after Friday night elf-slayage. Then after a normal weekend night shift, sleep for six hours on Monday morning before heading up to C+T's again for dark elf-slayage and get back to a normal schedule.

Anyways, got plenty of things to keep me up. Rented that new Mezzo series from Oxford. Its supposed to take place after the events in Mezzo Forte, and they change Mikura's short brunette locks to a pink with pigtails look. Oh, and her eyes went from hazel to blue. But the other peeps are the same, and they even add a new character. The action scenes are pretty awesome, and its not as raunchy as the Mezzo Forte Director's Cut (which was practically pr0n with the graphic sex!) Though they still don't explain Mikura's incredible resilience! I mean, she and Kite's Sawa survive several story falls through concrete! Anyways, the version I'm watching is an import, and the subtitles can get pretty horrendous at times, so I'll prolly have to check it out again when the American version comes out in October.

Also got around to reading the latest ish of Basara [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler lent me. The story right now is pretty neat, if not a little confusing. You have Tartara and the Red King facing off as the primary conflict, but then there's the whole them really being Sarasa and Shuri complicating that. And then you have Asagi with his own agenda, and both he and Shuri having their own campaigns against their father, talk about chaos! And they have so many characters now, I find myself having to turn back and be all "Wait, who the hell is that?!" But its neat like that.

Watched this special on the Discovery channel about ninjas right now. It was a nice treatsie on the history of the ninja and their similarities to modern special forces. The connection to psychics and CIA remote viewing projects was a little thin though. Just watching Old School right now. I still think it would be cool to be a Wedding Singer.

You're a total sucker for volunteering, btw.

Well, it really was needed, both Joey and Vincent were on vacation, Big Dave is out because of his grandma, and Mike couldn't stay past 3 on Friday night because he has OHR stuff on Saturday morning. So David was the only night shift person (And he normally doesn't come in on Fris and Sats), and no evening shift peeps available, which mean someone from days had to shift their schedule, and I doubt Todd and Mark would do so. So what other choice was there? And I didn't want to spend all day Thursday waiting to know if David would volunteer for Fri and Sat, so I went ahead and just volunteered so at least that way I would be prepared and able to adjust my schedule a day ahead of time.

Just cause someone had to do it doesn't mean it had to be you. Sucker!

Bah! Who else would? 1) I didn't want to wait and leave it open ended, 2) I didn't want to deal with certain people bitching and moaning, and 3) If no one was gonna do it, I didn't want to see an actual precedent be set where management was forced to make someone come in.
