Glassy!

Had an eye appointment today, and got my new prescription so now I'm all glassed up. It was annoying having to lug the glasses around (instead of just wearing them) in case I need to read. But now its all good and I can totally see now. And I can read small text now too! Anyways, had to kill some time between 1130 to 1430 since Lenscrafters was backed up. So I had lunch at the foodcourt, then picked up Master and Apprentice #3 from Oxford. I tried to page through more of Vampire: The Requiem, but alas, since my glasses were being worked on, I could hardly see stuff due to the contrast between the text and the page for some reason. I had less trouble at Border's, where I wasted an hour paging through books and magazines and listening to CDs. Then I went back to Lenox and wandered there for a while, stepped into AE Outfitters and the new Abercrombie and Fitch store that moved into where FAO Schwartz used to be. There was this one totally hot TAB there with her metrosexual looking boyfriends. Surprisingly enough, I didn't drop my usual $100 buying new clothes, I chose merely to look.

Anyways, what else? Finished up the Crest of Stars. I really enjoyed the last story arc of that. Though I enjoyed the dynamic between Lafiel and Jinto throughout. I thought the two had nice chemistry, though I guess they're saving them hooking up in the later series. Anyhoo, since the ship they were on actually lost in the beginning, I thought, maybe the United Mankind are dangerous opponents. But as it turns out, its a slanted as the Earth-Minbari war in B5. The Abh's totally kicked their ass! Though I do like that cocky Abh attitude. That Lady of Chaos chick was pretty awesome. And it was hysterical in the end when she got promoted to Admiral, and her crew was all breathing a sigh relief to be rid of her, but then she decided to take them all with her. Ha! I also liked how they actually showed what happened to everybody, from that Baron guy's ex-vassals, to the anti-empire rebels. It looks like it turned out pretty good for everyone in the end. But getting back to the Abh superiority, its ridiculous! How could the United Mankind be so foolish. I mean, not only was the fleet battle a rout, but a teenage princess fresh out of the academy was mowing through their military-trained soldiers like wheat when they came after her. I don't know what they were worried about, she was the reaper! Its like, they're firing assault rifles and missile launchers and tossing grenades at her and Jinto, then she just pops out from behind cover and kills 'em all each with a shot!

Anyways, I guess Heatguy-J is next on the viewing list. Saw the first ep before I took my glasses in, looks like a cool show. Oh, tried Country-Fried Steak for the first time the other day. Its okay. Ida know, with that fried crunch, and it being beef, two things I like, I should think its awesome! But the two tastes together don't work for me.
