Aug. 8th, 2004 07:45 amWent to the Eye-talian Kitchen with the usual suspects for dinner last night (
mike_b, were you the one who says this place is the best deal in town?) I've been here once before, but this time I got the pasta supreme since everyone keeps talking about it. (I think C-note's goal and reason we went there last night was so he could "conquer" it) Its awesome and gross at the same time. I mean, its like a bunch of pasta and sausage medallions in a tub of melted cheese. I eat a lot of unhealthy things that people will joke was hardening my arteries as I ate it, like the Vortex's Cardiac Arrest, or Grand Central Pizza's Heart Attack (or is that vice-versa), my typical two cheeseburgers/two chili-dogs/onion rings combo at the Varsity, etc. But this is the first one I would legitimately belive could. But it was delicious! And I finished it, which surprised
clevemire. Its not like the servings were big though, its just so cheesy, you prolly won't feel like eating anything else afterwards.
Watched the first two discs of Witch Hunter Robin that
turdburgler lent me the other night. Its a pretty cool show, but I'll reserve any further comments until I've completed the series. Missed out on seeing Collateral since I was busy slaying elves (or in this case, possessed samurai) but I definitely wanna check it out. The roomie and the GMA say it was just okay, but my standards are much lower than either of them, so I think it will be entertaining. And that One Tree Hill theme song is only now in the VH-1 Top 20 countdown? Not that I'm saying it was overlooked, just that its like a year old song. And so that's what's Shiri Appleby has been doing since Roswell, music videos? Though I had no idea it was her in Bon Jovi's "Its My Life" until like half a year after the video was out. I guess she did that Swimfan movie with that poor man's Julia Stiles, Erika Christiansen. Oh, and that guy who played Eliza Dushku's brother in Bring It On who kinda looks like Xander from Buffy.
And when was Jem on the OC? Rooney, I remember, because that ep was one long promotion for them. And I know she gets a lot of "Jem and the Holograms" jokes, but who really remembers that show? I remember it first started out on Sunday mornings when I was a kid, It was like after Robotix and wasn't a full series yet, it was grouped with the Inhumanoids and Bigfoot. Though I don't know if it was called Bigfoot, I just remmebr it had some guy who drove Bigfoot, and this old black dude who drove a monster truck called Orange Blossom, and some twin hotties who drove a monster truck called Black Gold, and they got into the sort of misadventures monster truck drivers get into. It was like that Pole Position show, but with Monster Trucks. And I don't think the trucks were sentient. Anyways, getting back to Jem, I always thought it was silly that the one chick was scared to reveal she was Jem to that guy she liked (did he ever find out by the end of the show?) because he was all "I hate liars!" Like she was going to tell him once, but just as she was about to, someone lied to him, and he confronted them and was all "I hate liars! If someone ever lies to me, I won't ever speak to them again!" so she chickens out because she doesn't wanna be cut out of his life.
And did Jem actually do the "Knowing is half the battle" thing like G.i.Joe and the Transformers did? Well, the PSA thing, because it wouldn't make cents for them to say "And knowing is half the battle". Okay, I just googled it, and apparently those Transformers PSAs were never aired (which make cents now, I couldn't believe I couldn't remember them) But Jem did have them, but instead of "Knowing is half the battle", they were all, "And knowing makes you a superstar!" Actually, the one page I found this out from was reviewing some Transformers convention that showed the unaired TF PSAs, and the panelist in charge of that display thought the TF should have had its own phrase instead of "kihtb", but the one he suggested sounds a little lame: "And knowing, you are transformed!"
And on the subject of remembering too much. Does it really freak people out that much that I remember stories about their life they told me that they've long since forgotten?
