Jul. 18th, 2004 12:13 pmOwel, just six or so more hours and I can look forward to a week of vacation. Hopefully, it'll stay quiet til the end of the day, leaving just the packup to take care of. Then I can just pass the time reading. Hopefully I can get this book done before the surgery. Then again, unlike last time, I actually have one eye working properly so I can actually read, but I don't think I can have my eyes looking down for long periods of time. I'll have to hold the book straight out in front of me or something, though the bifocals complicate things somewhat. Alas, I'm skeptical I will finish it though. Maybe, if I manage to cancel my appointment Monday morning, which should have already been cancelled, because that was set up before I decided to get my right eye done, and its redundant since I have surgery on Tuesday and a follow up on Wednesday! I'm also peeved since I have to wake up in time to call them and get it cancelled when I want to sleep in since I've been feeling exhausted as hell. Doubly so since my surgery time was moved up to 620 in the morning Tuesday, so good luck getting enough sleep that night as well. And I can't sleep early, because pops is coming in at 11pm and needs someone to pick him up at the airport. Hopefully he can get an earlier flight like he said he'd try to get. Though, once the surgery is done, since I can't do anything else really, I guess I could spend the rest of the day napping. I'm more frustrated that I coulda tried to get the Monday appointment cancelled, but I was too busy screwing around Friday afternoon and didn't notice the message on the answering machine about the appointment until it was after hours.
But I'll be glad once this surgery is done. Having the full field of vision back is cool, and I can stop getting creeped out by people disappearing to my right. I mean, how frustrating is it to be talking to someone and have them not be in your field of vision?! Looking in the mirror has been creepy also, seeing a small cloud of white in the middle of my right eye. That, and I can get my aiming eye back. Not that I wasn't kicking ass in Time Crisis 3 at the movies the other night. In any case, hopefully it goes well, and can be celebrating somewhat normal vision by Wednesday morning when the patch comes off.
