Jul. 9th, 2004 11:33 amAh, lunch time, just three and a half more hours to go. Just got back from the Student Center foodcourt, having gotten my usual bacon double cheese burger (healthy, right? No wonder I'm falling apart) and a bag of chips, the flavor of the day being sea salt & malt vinegar. Also picked up M's chicken salad from Chik-Fil-a. It looks delicious. And is prolly healthier than what I'm eating. Perhaps next time I shall get one of those for lunch.
I was going through old posts and forgot to mention I picked up DC season 3 a couple of weeks ago. I consider the second half of that season when the show was in its prime. Anyhoo, was a little disappointed to see they redid some of the songs in the eps. cliffV('What's up with that?!') Like the song that plays at the end of "Cinderella Story" when Joey and Pacey kiss isn't Tara Maclean's "Settling" anymore. It worked, I liked it that way, why did they have to change it? The first season of The OC is supposed to come out in August, I hear, but I haven't seen a place that confirms that yet. Definitely gonna have to pick that up when it comes out. Of course, if I had money to burn, I'd be buying TV series boxed sets like crazy. Friends, Felicity, Family Guy, Roswell s1 & 2, get the rest of Buffy and Angel. Though what's up with the high costs of some of these sci-fi series DVDs? Stuff like B5 and Farscape costs almost twice as much!

Where on earth do people get that idea? Granted, I've only watched the movies and read up to PoA so far (which I'm about a third of the way through right now) and Harry and Hermoine are pretty good friends, but they don't even seem remotely interested in each other. Ron and Hermoine on the other hand, you can cut the tension there with a knife! The part I'm up to right now, they've been arguing full force over Crookshanks chasing Scabbers around. I mean, the whole getting so mad they're not speaking to each other for an entire day and then forgetting about t all by dinner, that's love!
I think people who identify with Hermione but think Ron is a loser, esp. for being so oblivious to her, are the ones who think Harry and Hermione will have a love built on TRUST and FRIENDSHIP! And people who love Harry like crazy, and think Hermione is the only character good enough for him.
There are a few tiny little clues in the next two books that do seem to imply that Harry would make a better match for Hermione, but there are MUCH MUCH BIGGER clues that Ron and Hermione are madly in love with eachother, that the Harry/Hermione people somehow conveniently ignore.

Heh. Yeah, H & H are really good friends, and they're both smart, talented wizards, so of course they would "make sense" on paper, if not for the fact that she and Ron are head over heels for each other. I mean, the whole part in PoA when Ron and Harry are pissed at her because she got the Firebolt confiscated and then later because they think Crookshanks ate Scabbers was a huge indication of this! She was way more upset that Ron wouldn't talk to her than Harry. I still can't imagine how you can miss stuff like that, but I guess for those HH-shippers, they only want to see the things that prove their point. Oh, and that whole thing about it being a love built on TRUST and FRIENDSHIP? How chaste! Where's the passion?
