Owel, yesterday had lunch with [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out at this Mexican place near his work. Ordered this thi that was like a giant mexican pizza, I forgot what it was called, he'll prolly comment here and say the name of it. But basically it was just a giant flat tortilla with chorizo, lettuce, tomatoes, some sort of south mexican string cheese and peppers. Scott says they might have been jalapenos, but we're not sure. Whatever they were, they were hot! I mean, I'm a lightweight when comes to spicy food, but Scott had one and agreed. Except for the burning sensation that lasted for a few minutes, it was quite the tasty meal. And it was good to hang with the old roomie again, I hadn't seen S+S for a while since I wasn't able to help them move since I had work.

Anyways, got back into Onimusha 3. I'm prolly way far behind compared to [livejournal.com profile] zarathustra94 even though I've had the game longer. I mean, before yesterday, I hadn't even got up to the point where Jean Reno's character speaks English. And what's with him not doing the English voice? He speaks English! But now I'm in the swing of things. Alas, I'm not good enough to hit criticals off consistently. Well, except for on those weird armored lizard things with the spiked backs that roll up into balls and charge you sometimes. I had forgotten how easy they were to crit, even in the last game. Just wait for them to roll at you, and then once they're about to run you down, hit attack, and presto, instant crit. They definitely improved the physics I've noticed. Or maybe its because I hadn't played Onimusha 2 in a long while, but I don't remember the enemies body parts flying that way when pulling off a crit. I mean, especially if you crit an enemy charging at you, the parts go flying as if the momentum of their charge was still carrying them through even though you've cut them in half. Like the aforementioned spinning lizard things. When you crit during their roll, you do an upward vertical slash that cleaves them straight down the middle, and the two sides continue on past you before combusting into nothingness. But of course I suppose the graphics should look better since this is the 3rd game in the series.

Read another Vin Diesel interview. Seriously, he's a huge D&D geek. I mean, Judi Dench was playing an air elemental, and apparently he brought his monster manual on the set and was showing her what air elementals look like and telling her their properties and wot-not! Ha!

you rang?

its called a tlayuda--a gigantic messy contraption that probably measures about 18" in diameter with a layer of bean paste (did you realize that?), chorizo (actually your choice of topping but that one's the best), lettuce, tomatoes, sliced avocados, sliced hot peppers of some sort, and two types of cheese: queso blanco shredded up, and an oaxacan string cheese that runs all across the top--its unique to the oaxacan area of mexico apparently, and thankfully there have been quite a few oaxacans emigrating to atlanta lately...there's no way to be dignified while taking this on, so check your self-consciousness at the door and get ready to abuse those napkins...NOT a good first-date dinner...
