Picked up Onimusha 3 while hanging at the mall yesterday. Though while there, I noticed these two cuties dressed almost the exactly same, down to the same pair of fabulous looking boots. I mean, the only difference was the color of their tees. And they didn't seem like twins though, which makes it kinda weird because people other than twins dressing exactly alike and not for some sort of costume party or Haloween is quite odd.

Anyways, getting back to Onimusha 3, the intro movie was awesome. It had Samma-however you spell his name sneaking into this giant monster-battleship thingie and taking it out single-handedly. [livejournal.com profile] zarathustra94, I forgot how the OA game had a similar feel to the Onimusha series. what with the demons and undead in feudal Japan and all. Getting back to the movie, Sammy looks quite cool cutting a swath through undead swordsman and later dueling it out with giant demons. I later learened the fight choreography in the movie was done by Donnie Yen. I haven't gotten that far into the game yet, I just got it. One amusing thing about it though is, while the French speak French, for some reason the Japanese speak perfect English.

I'll cut these next few topic for spoilers:

Saw Gothika. Wait, how is Miranda not in jail or a mental institution anymore? I mean, yeah, she uncovered a pair of serial-killer/rapists but does that make killing the first one, her own husband, justifiable homicide? I mean, she can't say she was possessed by a raped ghost wanting revenge on her husband and that's why she killed him. And even if he was a killer-rapist, that doesn't mean she can just hack him up with an axe because that's vigilantism! Or maybe they let her get away with it because what the guy did was such a despicable crime and given that the sheriff was in on it too any evidence they had might've been considered tainted or something.

And why did the desk clerk help her escape? She didn't say, "I need to get out to prove my innocence!" And up until that point she made no real moves to clear her name (which would have been moot anyways, since she technically did do it, just not of her own accord) so its not like he was helping her do good, he's just helping a mental patience he thinks is hot escape!

Finally, saw Basic all the way through as well. Maybe I need to see it again and pay better attention because there are still a few things I'm a little confused about. I mean, I understand West uncovered a little drug op going on, brought it to Stiles who did nothing, so he and Travolta's character cooked up the scheme to expose Stiles. But he said that he went to Stiles a week before the events in the movie, didn't he? So how did Travolta get all his men there? Were they totally new recruits (well, not recruits Special Forces candidates, but I digress) who just got there and were only now starting their training under West? But if that was the case, then how did Harry Connick Jr's character recruit Kendall and Mueller, because then they should've been new as well. Speaking of, what was up with Giovanni Ribisi's accent in that? I thought he was just trying to act crazy by talking funny when they were interviewing in the hospital, but then in the flashbacks, that's how he was talking normally! Its like he was doing an impression of someone!

But anyways, let's say Travolta somehow manages to get his Section 8 peeps into West's trainee unit. What exactly did happen out there? Pike/Dunbar took out Mueller, so he can't say anything, but Kendall would still have to think the rest of them were all dead as well. I mena, he's still one of the bad guys, he wouldn't lie and say they're not dead for Stiles' benefit. I guess things could have gone down like in the final version, where West "kills" Castro, Nunez, and Dunbar-Pike, and Pike-Dunbar convinced Kendall to go along with the whole "West was killed before they all go to the outpost" version of the story when he switched dog-tags. So did they act in front of Kendall when they had that Mexican stand-off? And did Mueller really ambush them, and they just got lucky and he didn't actually hit West but they faked that he did for Kendall's sake?

Wow, I did not expect them to take out the couriers so easily. Well, except for that last one, and please, the only one they can't find is the LA one? How convenient! And whoa, they killed Lady Mac! Now that was a big surprise!

As always, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel were looking amazing. Anyways, the L/L stuff was great! I thought with Digger being all "we're gonna be back together" and Luke actually believing him, I was worried they might do the whole misunderstanding and not speaking to each other until next season angle, but they hadn't shown the kiss in the trailer. But they did kiss, and twice! And initiated by one, then the other. But they still left it unresolved by having Naked crazy Kirk running around after having "night terrors" (I wonder if he'll still be with Lulu next season, or if that whole thing freaked her out) and then the whole Rory-Dean debacle.

And wow, I thought they would've kept it obscure so maybe you wouldn't be sure if they did it or just had a heavy make out session, but Rory flat out admitted it. That final scene was wonderfully acted though by LG and AB. I mean, there's Lorelai's transition of giddiness at the Luke kiss and the whole Kirk silliness to the crushing disappointment at her daughter losing her virginity to a married man. And Rory's breakdown at the end? Wow. Though some people on the TWOP boards were all, its so out of character for Rory. She would never do that. I think that's part of the reason she did it. The whole emotional rollercoaster she's been on these past few weeks, with school ending, and getting closer to Dean and the whole Jess thing the week before primed her for this. She wanted to do something drastic.

But they kept everything unresolved, which is good, because I'm already wanting to see how this all turns out! I mean L/L is at a good place, but still up in the air. And while they finally "exposed" the whole Emily/Richard separation, that's nowhere near to being resolved either. It was hysterical though that Emily and Richard knew that Lorelai knew but was keeping quiet. I know all about "keeping up appearances", so ha! I mean, even though its totally f'ed up that they were willing to carry on this charade for who knows how long, stuff like that actually does happen! You know, you smile and act like nothings wrong when you really want to just scream at the top of your lungs, "Dammit, this is such a ridiculous farce!" but you hold your tongue because the sham is better then rocking the boat? But again, I digress. Who knows how this Rory-Dean thing will turn out either? I think its a brilliant point to end at, because it leaves the audience totally wanting more!

They need to spin off Kirk into his own show, but with LG showing up to look hot all the time. He's the only character I actually like in the show (and the actor who plays him was on two episodes of ARCTU, so he has to be cool).
