Apr. 15th, 2004 07:57 amOwel, didn't go to Rob's b-day thing last night with the roomie and
phatjoe partly because I wasn't directly invited, partly (okay, mostly, I'm such an ass) because of new TV. Ida know, I had heard that it was okay for me to go, even though there was RSVPing for this thing. Of course, if everything I watch wasn't new, I prolly woulda gone without worrying about things like invitations. I don't have that big a problem with crashing things. I hear I missed out on some cool stuff. I had heard there was bowling going on, but I had no idear there was not only an arcade, but karaoke! I might've gone if I heard they had that! Though singing in front of the family is one thing, but total strangers? Not that I haven't done that before. There was karaoke at the Local a couple of times after Rock and Roll trivia at the Star Bar (which even with
psyched_out and jbarkle, we hardly ever managed to place if we ever did at all) all those years ago. Though why we went there when the Star Bar had its own karaoke guy (Mr. Karaoke? Capt. Karaoke?) I can't remember. And I enjoy singing at church, but that's with people rather than in front of people. Anyways, singing in front of strangers is still a little weird/intimidating to me though.
Owel, but I guess I had my shows, even though I had the PVR and VCR recording. Of course, given that they didn't get back til a little before midnight, I wouldn't have gotten a chance to watch them until this afternoon, and then what could I post about this morning?
Smallville and Angel, nothing really to say about those. But I can try! Smallville: umm, Kristin Kreuk is still incredibly hot? Though the scene with her and Lex at the mansion makes me think it would be quite amusing if Lex and Lana hooked up. I don't know why. Though I guess he is too old for her. Well, not too old. But old enough that it might be considered statch.
And it looks like Harmony is in the credits now. That's pretty cool. They needed more chyx starring on that show. I mean, that's prolly why Charmed was renewed but Angel wasn't. I mean seriously, I watch both, and Angel is by far the better show, but Charmed just has the T&A factor going for it. I mean, I find Fred wicked mad cute, but she's just not your typical Hollywood sexy. And Harmony's hot as well, but she wasn't in a starring role until now. About the ep, technically he's three soldiers down. Forgetting Cordy, are we? Though Gunn's not technically down, they can find a way to fish him out of that torture place if they really needed him. And Fred may have been obliterated, but there's still a part of her in Illyria. So I guess they might appeal to that part of her to get Illyria to help.
And one thing you can say about Joss, at least he tries to get his people work. So they've had the Captain and Zoe, now Jayne (I don't count River because she guested on Angel before Firefly came out) With the suit he seems a little Matrix Agent-ish.
So not only is she a total hottie who's haughty (you know me and seemingly shallow rich girls), sorta a closet dork (I bet she plays more than Galaga), a total fan girl for lame teen dramas, but she's also a handy-woman? But alas, there were no girls like Summer Roberts at my school. Of course, even if there were, I wouldn't done anything about it.
That yearbook scene with Seth and Summer was awesome. That whole exchange where she asks him how mean she was back then, and him saying that would have required her to speak to him? They really nailed that one. Now that's chemistry, people!
Oh, and call me lame, but I found Luke's "Welcome to Portland, bitch!" endearing. That's another thing I like about the show, continuity. Like having him get drunk to Bob Seger's "Night Moves". But wait, is he gone now? They said he was leaving "tomorrow", but given he was just in a serious car accident, shoiuldn't they wait before he moves away?
