Apr. 7th, 2004 07:44 amI was so devastated by Tech's loss on Monday night I couldn't come into work the next day. Okay, not really. I started to feel like I was coming down with something, and I couldn't get to sleep because of the coughing, and I didn't want to come in to this cold-ass room with only four hours of sleep. So I took off. And the ten hours of sleep I ended up getting was a good thing. I needed that, given that I rarely catch up on my sleep on the weekends. And I don't even lead an all that exciting life!
Anyways, during the game struggled with the latest EW ish's '90s pop culture quiz. Well, struggled because I still have trouble reading books and magazines, not because the questions were particularly hard. I mean, seriously, name all the teenage mutant ninja turtles(is that even 90s?) or correctly identify each Spice girl in a picture? I can't even conceive of anyone not being able to do either. And amusingly enough, one of their Seinfeld questions was an ep I was talking about with the guys the other day: "What restaurant did Kenny Bania make Jerry take him to in exchange for a new suit?" They did have at least one question wrong though. And that was, "on DC, who did Joey kiss first, Dawson or Pacey?" At first, I was gonna say Pacey in "Double Date", but then I remembered that she had kissed Dawson on a dare from Pacey in a previous ep, "Detention". But EW says it was Pacey who kissed her in that ep, not Dawson. Alas, I scored only an 87, whereas
clevemire scored a 99. Well, he didn't do that almost perfectly, both those scores include bonus points.
Anyhoo, there was something new besides 24 this week! And it look like everything will be back in full swing next week! 24 was interesting, though it was so obvious that this new baddie who has a past association with Jack was going to be someone else who survived that Drazen mission. That is so cliche! If a character on one of these series is the only survivor of some failed mission, they never really are! There will be someone else who survived who shows up out of the blue either wanting revenge at his/her superiors/the character for leaving him/her behind. Or, during the years of capture, they were brainwashed into working for the bad guys! And I don't know what it is about Michelle currently, but she's looking way hotter than usual. Who knew a few loose strands of hair could do so much?
And a new OTH, too. I vowed not to watch this show when it first came out, and look at me now. Dammit. Anyways, a nice little ep, if only because Brooke and Peyton almost became friends again. Well, I always like seeing those kinda situations work themselves out, because it makes me forget the grim reality of what really happens in those cases. And I actually find Peyton attractive with her hair up. I dunno, I just don't like her hair down. It wasn't too bad when she was VJing on MTV, but it just doesn't do anything for me on the show. Oh, and I'm a little skeptical that one can take the clumsy geek girl and have her being able to perform a complicated cheer routine (for actual competition, not normal cheering) with just a few hours of practice! Then again, they actually didn't win either.
