Had the TV on MTV (or MTV2?) last night just before I went to bed, and they had that "Yeah" video by Usher with Lil' Jon and Ludacris. Actually, seeing it again, it is the ultimate example for that Chappelle skit, because Lil' Jon does "What?!!", "Yeah!", and "Okay!" in the exact same way Chappelle did.

Anyways, last night was the Britney Spears concert. Went with [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out's wife. It was a fun time. Anyways, he picks me up and we pick up dinner at Figo Pasta. Had the four cheese ravioli with the something-something sauce that was bacon in a spicy tomato sauce. Pretty good. They should give out a buttery dipping sauce for their bread though. After we were done eating, he dropped us off at the Phillip's Arena. They told me Kelis was supposed to be the opening act, but I was watching the N a couple of weeks ago and heard it was Skye Sweetnam. I think it was actually both, but it turned out Kelis wasn't performing that night. Anyways. that Skye Sweetnam chick was kinda cute. Her music was kinda plain though, the only one I liked was this sorrowful hard rock love song that she played as I got back from the loo.

Britney was pretty awesome. I had heard she had hurt her ankle last thursday and had to cancel a showing because of that, but she seemed to be moving fine last night. They had a mix of her new stuff and her classics, though her new stuff is nowhere near as catchy as her old stuff. And kinda ccv('Inappropriate!') I mean, there are children in the audience and she's like singing a song about masturbation and people writhing around acting like they're masturbating! Scandalous!

But I enjoyed it. Oops, I don't mean the masturbation song, the concert in general. Though speaking of scandalous, there were a lotta hot young things wearing too short skirts. Many of them had this short number that started out all smooth from the waist down but the last few inches were pleated. I dunno if that's the in-style thing kids are wearing these days, or if it has some particular significance to Britney Spears, but S and I did remark on how many girls wore that exact same design. Although many of them didn't have matching shoes! Some did (and did it very well, I might add), but I kept seeing girls whose shoes totally didn't go with the skirt (or with skirts, period!)

Oh, it was a little cold last night, so S was all, "aren't they cold?" Of course, kids would rather get sick then not look cool. Which had me thinking back to high school, and the really, really cold winters and the girls having to wear the skirts for the uniform. I mean, I was freezing my ass off through my pants, i can't conceive how the girls at school could handle it! [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish, how did you handle it? Then again, y'all got to ride the bus straight to and from home. There were some girls who had the same hour plus commute I did, that musta sucked for them.

you just deal with it. or you wear pants until you get to school. today I just wear my long winter coat to cover up my legs. Good thing I don't have to walk that far from the metro to the capitol.
