Feb. 5th, 2004 09:37 amAs I've said before, this new DNS appliance w00ter set up to replace the old system makes single entries much quicker, but it is a huge bitch when you have large batches of changes that need to be made. I literally spent about two hours doing something that would have taken me at most 10 minutes using the old system. And its only 930?! Okay enough complaining.
No new OC until next week. suckage!
On Smallville, the whole thing with Adam was more interesting than the main plot. It would be cool if he was Bruce Wayne, but he isn't. Of course, any other explanation would pale in comparison. So the writers have pretty much set the auidence up for disappointment no matter what they do.
And whoa, are they gonna kill off Bo Duke? Its like, they end the ep on such a shocking note, and then the preview for next week is Pete being all "Fast and Furious".
Angel's 100th was cool. Lots of references to past eps, resolved several open issues. There was even an appearance, albiet via videotape, by Doyle. I had heard Cordelia was gonna finally wake up, but then leave, but I didn't know how. I figure she'd just re-ascend back to the higher plane. Its a sad that Cordy had to die, but it was prolly the best way to get her off the show in a way that makes sense why she wouldn't be back.
The whole being helped by a ghost thing has been done several times before, but I think it worked in this ep. And they actually did give a lot of clues. Not seeing the face of that "other" female coma patient in the room before Cordy closed the curtain around her saying she should prolly have privacy and decribing that "other" girl as having one foot in the grave. Her convo with Wes, all her reminiscing about Doyle and how he knew that sacrifices had to be made, she was destined for death at that point.
Oh, and while I wasn't for or against A/C, I think it was still pretty sad for Angel at the end. I mean, everyone was all happy (sorta) and re-united and going out to have drinks, even Harmony! Then not only does he end up losing her, he has the undesirable task of going to a celebratory function and telling them the guest of honor is dead.
Actually, one thing always bugged me about A/C. The end of the ep, they ask each other if they ever wonder what it would be like if they met up at the cliffs at the end of s3. You know, if she hadn't been manipulated into ascending and his son Connor hadn't put him in a box and dropped him to the bottom of the ocean? Its like, they never mention the curse! Even if things died down and there were no impending apocalypses and they decided to try and go for it, there's that whole, he'll lose his soul if he finds true happiness deal! Although last season when they had to desoul him to talk to Angelus, that little magic-induced dream he had to "fool" him into thinking he had found true happiness, it was more than a romp in the sack. He reunited with the MoG and especially Wes, saved the world, his son finally accepted him, and then finally Cordy slept with him. And he was able to sleep with Darla with no after-effects. So he can sleep with chyx, but only when he's really depressed! ha! But seriously, they just seem to overlook that part on Angel. And jeez, Willow, you think when you resouled him the second time, since you had advanced so far in the magircks you could've given him the soul without the curse part?
