Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt- Started watching this on netflix. Its pretty hilarious, they had me in the first five minutes by making the theme song a parody of the bed intruder song. Kimmy is sweet and infectious and you can't help but root for her.
Its co-written by Tina Fey, so you can definitely see shades of 30 Rock in this, which is obviously not a bad thing. But Jane Krakowski's character is essentially the same as Jenna. I'm only 3 episodes in, but I can't help but think with her last name being Voorhees, that eventually a Jason/Friday the 13th joke is coming up at some point?
One thing I did find hilarious is that
clevemire, someone else on tumblr I follow, and then M from geek fun all separately posted three entirely different pic sets covering this same joke from one of the eps. Like its one thing if they re-posted the exact same thing to tumblr or facebook, but I get a kick out of the fact it was three separate posts (one arranged like a column, another tiled, the third just one image) about the same line. I guess people thought that exchange was pretty hysterical.
And it is, though I think a lot of the dialogue suits Ellie Kemper perfectly- it works coming out of a cute, fresh faced, seemingly naive (but not actually as naive as you think) girl like her. Which seems to be mostly the kinda characters she plays.
All in all, pretty enjoyable show.
