How about this for something non TV/movie/video game/music-related? So sometimes, people are talking to me about boring-ass crap I could give a rat's ass about. I smile and nod along, but in my mind, I'm actually thinking, "I'll take boring-ass crap I could give a rat's ass about for 500, Alex!" or if I'm in a particularly bad mood, I imagine Malcolm Tucker saying, "You know what, you're a real boring eff!" (well, I imagine him using the actual f-word, but I'm trying to keep this post devoid of the 7 words you can't say on TV, which is why I'm also using "crap") Which is kinda mean, since I often talk about boring-ass crap people could give a crap about. But then I think about people actually ignoring me, or outright stopping me in the middle of whatever I'm babbling about and saying, "WTF, I don't give a crap about this crap!" Which of course makes me angry, because its like, "What the frick, I listen to people's dumb-ass effin crap that I could care effin less about all the time, its my turn to inflict my crap upon the world!" Well, in my mind, because I'm kinda non-confrontational. Which is prolly why I have so much pent up aggression, that usually only gets out in video games or the road.

And amusingly enough, its not like the people who don't listen are the ones telling me uninteresting (to me) crap that I patiently sit through, so its not like they owe me anything, but its still frustrating all the same.

Now back to the usual subjects. So today is the last of Scars on 45's acoustic Monday previews of songs off their upcoming album that they post on their youtube channel. Its like, they sound so amazing, and I'm all, okay, when is this upcoming album, dangit!? But they don't have anything other than "early 2014".

ME blather- Heh, you know, I can't believe I've been playing the mp this whole time, and hadn't realized the awesomeness of chaining lighting an enemy up with incendiary ammo, hitting them with warp to detonate a fire explosion, then hitting them with another detonator power for a biotic explosion. Though to be fair, I've only recently playing more of the biotics in my quest to finish up the waves challenges. Plus, I'm pretty stingy with my incendiary ammo.

TV commentary:

Lost Girl- Heh, interesting twist there. spoiler cut )

HIMYM- Hey, finally, an ep with the actual mother. Hopefully as they get nearer to the actually wedding ceremony, we'll start seeing more of her, because its kinda ridiculous that they added her to the cast, and yet she only shows up every few episodes. One cute touch I enjoyed in the episode was that she was wearing driving gloves when she was driving the van. Its a nice little call back.

Nikita- I was actually surprised by last week's ep. spoiler cut )

Sons of Anarchy- Some thoughts on the last few eps since I hadn't posted about this show in a while. spoiler cut )

ssmv('Hey, mang, I so tired!') So in defensive driving class a couple weeks ago, they were talking about how people need at least 8 hours of sleep. I normally get 6 on the weekdays, because who the eff has the time to sleep for 8 friggin hours? I don't even have a life or like kids or pets to take care of and it still seems like there's never enough time in the day!

ME blather- So [livejournal.com profile] clevemire has been making his way through the series, he's currently playing the Citadel DLC for ME3. He'd mentioned having trouble with the Cat6 Heavies, since he's playing an adept, and they have those shields that block his powers, he was having to try and mail slot them. I've always found it interesting in games like this how different an experience you get depending on what class you play. Like when I was watching [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy playing his sentinel last year, it seemed like he had his squad do the heavy lifting, and he was just keeping himself alive long enough for them to kill the baddies.

And for me, playing an infiltrator, I could carry around a black widow and just punch through shields. The carried kind, that is, though I had energy drain from Tali to take care of personal shields (and barriers). Plus, infiltrators get sabotage, so I could hack turrets and atlases and geth, so cerberus and cat6 and geth didn't give me much pause. Reapers on the other hand, always made me nervous, particularly since they go for the swarm tactics. And me with my slow firing sniper rifle. Like it definitely takes a chunk out of brutes and banshees, but after playing MP for a while, biotics are a more devastating class against the reapers. Like yeah, I can line up my sniper rifle and hopefully put down a brute before it gets to me. But since biotic powers auto track, its way easier to just do some combo of powers to cause a biotic explosion to take it out.

Which speaking of, been working on the krogan shaman and batarian slasher. I think I've said before what I like about the shaman is he's an adept, but with the resiliency of a krogan. Which is pretty useful for weathering enemy fire while I line up shockwave on someone I just warped. The slasher is only slightly less resilient than the krogan, but I like his power set. Warp + cluster grenade is pretty friggin devastating, particularly against the reapers. And especially against brutes and ravagers. They're slow enough that they can't dodge the warp, and since grenades aren't on cool down, you can quickly follow up with a cluster. Plus they're big enough that you can actually hit them with the weird ass trajectory of the clusters. I mean, the drell's reave+cluster is still better, but the batarian gets lash, which is vastly superior to pull. Not only can I grab and throw enemies farther, it will detonate anything. I like it better on him than the project phoenix guys actually. The phoenix adept's singularity has the baddies floating every which way, so its easier to miss grabbing them and setting off the biotic explosion. And while smash is a primer and a detonator, it just has such a slow windup that smash to lash or lash to smash biotic explosions are pretty risky.

TV commentary:

NCIS- Is it me, or did Ellie look way cute undercover at that Christmas tree lot? I'm still amused they made sure to have her mention she was married, just so the Tiva fans wouldn't worry about the show having Tony hook up with her now that Ziva's gone. Even then though, it seems Tony and Ellie's rapport is more brother-sisterly than anything else. spoiler cut )

Person of Interest- ah, interesting reveal! spoiler cut )
