Jan. 23rd, 2013 08:50 amI was thinking movies I should have seen (or people expect me to have seen that I have not yet), and let me list them for future reference so I'll know to eventually watch them.
Sound of Music (I saw part of this last year, but never finished it)
Swingers
Goodfellas
Heathers
Back to School
Caddyshack
Of course, part of it is so I can say I actually saw them when I quote them. Like that Korean war movie we were watching the other day, one of the guys shined shoes or something, so I made a "go get your shine box" crack. And is it really appropriate for me to make such a reference having never seen Goodfellas?
So, I started up on ME3 last night, ostensibly to see if my character imported correctly. I actually changed classes this time. I played a soldier in ME1 and 2, but changed to Infiltrator. Time will tell if that was wise- after all, I'm used to playing a soldier. But while the soldier seems solid, his powers are rather boring. I mean, sure, Immunity was all I needed in the first one, and Adrenaline Rush works well in the second, but it and Dominate were all I were using. Its like, start the mission up, give everyone cryo ammo, then switch my weapon to an ammo power appropriate to the enemies I'll be mostly seeing in this level. there's some enemies, time to go into bullet time and kill them all, and to change it up, if they were in a large enough group (and not robots), cause some amusing havoc by mind controlling them into attacking each other. I suppose that may be all I need, and I have my squad members filling the gaps, but I was up for a change and some more variety.
Of course, the main reason I picked a soldier in the first two was because they were the only one who could use every weapon. And sometimes I'm in the mood to snipe. Sometimes I wanna shotgun it, and other times I like the feel of a rapid fire machine gun. But in the 3rd one, everyone can use everything. Granted, the soldier can carry the most weapons, and its prolly not wise for an Infiltrator to carry more than a handgun/submachine gun and a sniper rifle or shotgun (but not both a sniper rifle AND a shotgun). But I can switch it up between missions, and be a sniper, or rush up invisible and take people out up close with the shotgun.
Though I'm used to the assault rifle being my bread and butter, so this might take some getting used to. But like I said, I like being able to turn invisible. And be able to use personal tech powers instead of having to bring someone who has something I want- they get sabotage (the ME3 replacement for AI hacking) and Incinerate. And disruptor ammo apparently isn't just for synthetics and shielded enemies anymore!
