So was the line always, "The Pain is Thunder"? Because I was looking at the lyrics to MJ's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" and realized I never knew the lyrics to the song at all. Like, thinking about it, when singing along to this song in the car or wherever, I must've totally been making up words for half of it.

Anyhoo, so Fox has released the Glee performance of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" on youtube:

Its not the best cover of the song (there is something slightly off about it that I can't put my finger on), but I still enjoyed it. Like I think I enjoy the performance on the show more than their version of the song. I enjoyed the synchronized dance moves in the beginning in the hall with Blaine, Santana, Brit, Kurt, and Mercedes. And then the part near the end where they focus on each person (except Puck and Sugar, who are noticeably missing from this number) doing their own little move was cool. The girls all looked sexy, Santana especially in that skirt, and Tina's little ass shake in the white Smooth Criminal tux. And heh, Kurt is way less awkward with the hip gyrations than he was during ABC at Sectionals.

Although what was up with Finn and Quinn's outfits, they didn't seem very MJ. Like I think she had shoulder pads, and Finn's jersey was bedazzled, but the difference between their outfits and the others is kinda glaring.

Anyways, its Friday, which means first listen friday, and people on tumblr are way too excited about it. I mean, yeah, its MJ, and I can't wait to hear the songs too, but I don't want to get my hopes up and jinx it and have Fox delay the release for some reason. I do find it odd that they're releasing all the songs as singles, rather than an album like they did with Madonna. Though I guess they Britney and Fleetwood Mac eps, all the songs were released as singles rather than a special Britney or Fleetwood Mac album.

So its First Listen Friday, so the Official Music from Glee site has the songs up to hear. Its 11 songs, which is a lot, I'm actually curious if all the songs are going to be in the actual ep, or if they had to drop some for time.

So today highlighted an interesting double standard when it comes to "shipping". Obviously you can ship a straight guy and straight girl together, or two gay guys, or two lesbians. And there's definitely a lot of people who ship two same sex characters together even though they are straight in whatever tv show/movie/book/what have you they're from. But wow, some people flip out if you ship a gay and a lesbian together! Like its okay to imagine a straight person enter into a homosexual relationship, but somehow its offensive to imagine a gay being straight?

Anyways, so Fox also released the full performance of "Smooth Criminal" from the upcoming MJ epsiode today:

So some people were talking about how you could cut the sexual chemistry between Sebastian and Santana with a knife. Which had others up in arms all, "She's a lesbian, he's gay! They can't be together!" Please, if someone who had never seen an episode of Glee saw this and knew nothing else about the show, they would probably think this was one of those plots where two rivals eventually turn into lovers and that S&S were ready to get in on there the way they were staring at each other in the end.

In any case, I love Santana's outfit in this. It looks like she's wearing a suit jacket with no pants.
