So Warriors Orochi 3 is shaping up to be quite interesting. It's actually gonna use the character designs as of DW7 and SW3. It will have everyone from both those games, as well as the XL versions. So, yes, even the new Guo Jia and Wang Yi from the upcoming DW7: XL. But, it doesn't mention if it will have the WO specific characters from the previous games, or the characters that haven't shown up in the latest iterations of DW (Zuo Ci) or SW (Musashi, Kojiro, and Goemon). I will be quite put out if they don't have Kojiro, he's one of my favorites.

But, the latest news is that there are three guest characters. Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden, which kinda makes sense since one of his secret costumes from the last NG was Zhao Yun's DW6 outfit. (wait, are they made by the same company? I thought NG was Tecmo and the Warriors series were Koei? Did NG move to Koei? Do Koei and Tecmo share the same parent company?) Then there's Achilles from Warriors of Troy, and Joan of Arc from Bladestorm: THYW. But alas, its only those two from those games. I don't mind it as much with the Warriors of Troy, because the character designs weren't that great. But Bladestorm had several interesting designs! Although I guess Edward looked like a young, clean shaven version of Nobunaga, while Imari looks like a cross between Oichi and Kotaro Fuma.

It would be awesome if it was from all their games, but the game already has 120 characters already (adding BS and Troy would have it at 160!). I guess that's 55 from the DW series and 40 from the SW series, confirmed. There's the three aforementioned guest characters, and the game already has 3 new characters- Kaguya, Shuten Doji, and Ne Zha. So that's 101. Leaving 19 character slots. WO2 had 10 game specific characters characters (Da Ji, Fu Xi, Himiko, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Nu Wa, Orochi, Shin Orochi, Sun Wukong, Taigong Wang, and Taira no Kiyomori). So with the missing characters from DW and SW, that's 14 right there. Meaning there's at least 5 new characters. I suppose there could be more new characters, and the game might not have some of the cut characters, but that seems silly, why would you create even more characters when you have so many not in yet?

I guess for me, if I watch TV, I WATCH TV. i.e., if I choose to watch a show, its usually not half-assed. I mean, for the occasional show I don't watch every ep of, I will at least rely on the internet to fill in the blanks. So I'm incredulous to see someone ask an entertainment gossip reporter during one of their usual Q&A sessions on the internet with the public to ask, "Is show X canceled? I haven't seen it in weeks?" First, how do you live in effin America and not know a little thing called The World Series causing shows to be on hold for a while until its over. And secondly, if you're asking a frickin' entertainment gossip person this question, it means you have the internet. And you know what, instead of waiting for this person to have their Q&A to ask about your show, there's this little frakkin' thing called google, where you can be all "Is X canceled?" and you'll have your answer. Seriously, WTF?! Are people morons?

Also, it baffles me how one can be invested in a show and not understand the fundamentals of TV. Let's take a certain TV show's last season ender cliffhanger for instance. In it, the female lead is shot by a sniper. Cue the forums where some people were all, "OMG, if X dies, I'm quitting this show." Because yeah, a show is definitely gonna kill off one of the romantic leads. WTF?!! And if they were, the way the entertainment gossip news world is, you're gonna hear about it beforehand, most likely in the form of an announcement of a long time actor/actress leaving a show they've been on for years.

TV commentary:

Castle- Not to be cold blooded or anything, but while Alexis' "whole world" was indeed at the bank, at least she would be an extremely rich orphan if something happened to Castle and her grams there. Also, given Trapper John asked for Beckett to be the one he was communicating with, it stands to reason he might recognize her voice. So maybe you don't want to send her in as the fake paramedic? I guess the boys were off investigating the old lady's apartment, and they prolly want someone Castle would recognize as a cop, but still, if the head robber talked to her any, the jig might've been up. Things that might've also caused the jig to be up? All the frickin' meaningful glances Castle and Beckett gave each other. They kept saying the doctor-robbers were very good and very professional, you think they'd pay more attention as the paramedic was strapping epileptic guy in and notice the goings on between Castle and Beckett.

Then again, spoiler cut )

Things that will annoy me until I figure it out. What is this gun seen in the preview for tonight's ep of SoA:

It appears to be a grenade launcher of some sort, going by the size of the barrel. What I want to know is if it is a real weapon, or something their prop department made up. For posterity mainly, because its not a weapon I recognize at all. I mean, the stock and trigger are reminiscent of the M-32, but the front end is a over-under design reminiscent of the China Lake Grenade Launcher or the Russian GM-94. Of course, the upper barrel seems to be vent-ribbed. The lower tube seems to be open faced also, which would lead one to think its some sort of double barrel design rather than the lower tube being a tubular magazine. Which makes me think it is a prop mock up then because the design makes no sense to me. Still, I must know!

TV commentary:

Glee- So this is the debut ep of one of the Glee Project winners, Damien (the Irish one). I'm kinda amused that Samuel was the "first" winner, until the judges were all, "Oh, Damien, you won too", but Damien is the first one up on the show. From the forums it seems like the chyx really dig his accent. And on the one hand, he seems like a nice, earnest guy, but on the other, I'm a little offended at him pretending to be a Leprechaun to try and get into Brit's pants, because its kinda like taken advantage of a retarded person. Then again, even though they romanticize Brit and Santana, Santana had done some pretty suspect things over the course of the show.

Also kinda offensive, that one of Sue's tactics against Burt now that he's running against her is to buy him the super-cholesterol burger because of his heart. Sue saying horrible things, that's fine, but it always grates on me when she's trying to actually kill someone. The Brit in the cannon thing from the superbowl ep, the trying to reroute their NYC flight to Tripoli, the Artie torture at prom? Not cool.

Also, what happened to the rule of 12 for the choir competition? Neither New Directions or the Troubletones (or whatever the hell their group is called) has the required 12 to enter the competition! I mean, Santana and Mercedes are all, finally, we can be center stage, but unless they find 8 other people, they're not going anywhere! At least ND only has to find 2 more people now that they have Rory.

It always amusing to read the forums and see how divided the fandom is on whether folks like Mercedes and Santana have a point or if Rachel is wrongly vilified. It was a little surprising that it was a Blaine song that set Santana off. I guess she does have a right to be worried that it was gonna be the Rachel and Blaine show, because they are arguably the best male and female singers. I'm glad it has changed to Blaine though, because it was a little silly when everyone was incensed that Rachel and Finn were the leads. I mean, Rachel sure, but Finn was always weaker than the rest of the guys. At least Blaine has the chops to be mail lead.

And I feel a little sorry for Sugar. I mean, Shelby's group was created for her. Yeah, Sugar has no talent, but her father did pay for it. Then Mercedes and Santana and Brit come in, and Santana just takes it over and bullies Sugar down? Though I guess its good for Shelby, because at least now she has a real group and not a joke.

Not good for Shelby? Insane Quinn. At least the show is trying to iron out her motivations a little better. She feels her life is so messed up (even though her family is rich, she's pretty, she has a whole bunch of people who care for her while she's kinda an ingrate about it), and Beth is the "one good thing" about her life. Its amusing that Quinn's thinks her daughter is perfect and the one thing she can't ruin, and if she does get her back from Shelby, I think that's what she'll end up doing.

But what the eff was up with that ending?! Argh, I mean, I know they were kinda setting that up all ep, but still, Puck and Shelby?! I can't believe they went there! Which makes it even more disappointing that Puckelberry hasn't been a thing for a while, because how scandalous is it that Puck is now effing Rachel's mom?
