Finally finished Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino last night, as well as the OVA. The second season is a definite improvement over the first in terms of plot, particularly concerning the bad guys, Franco/Flanca/Pinocchio/Christiano. I mean, I can't remember if the first season had recurring nemeses, or if they had Public Safety fighting random terrorists, but having an overarching plot with them definitely held my interest. The OVA was a little pointless though, it seemed more like a "slice of life" ep that went a little more into Jean and Jose's back story and their different ways of handling Henrietta and Rico.

Heh, because I normally base my favorite characters in action shows/movies/comics based on killing capacity (though I prefer quality over quantity), of course I'm curious which of the main girls is considered the most bad-ass. I wouldn't think Henrietta or Angelica. Triela is the oldest (looking, at least. Since they don't age, I think one of the other girls is technically older even though she's stuck at a younger age) and the most "butch" of the girls, and she was the one obsessed with beating Pinocchio. Rico of course is a dead-eyed (or rather, bright eyed) psycho, who'll kill without missing a beat and act as if its the most normal thing in the world. However, even though Claes is never in the field anymore, I got the implication from that one episode first season, that she's actually pretty bad-ass. And its only because of the psychological concerns from losing her handler that they took her out of the field. Well, that and he did the whole "when you're wearing the glasses, be a nice normal girl" thing. So it seems like she's not too keen on doing the glasses off thing, but when she does, she seems pretty tough.
