I love posse, I'm a posse magnet!
Apr. 23rd, 2011 01:01 pmMK stuff: Is it me, or do the characters with a "capturing" move like Scorpion or Subzero have a significant advantage over the other characters? I mean, being able to unleash your best combos (or an x-ray attack) while the enemy is helpless gives you an easier time at things than characters who have no such ability. Particularly considering how cheesy the game gets, being able to freeze the enemy gives you a much needed respite.
DW7 stuff: heh, watching TV right now, there was a commerical that reminded me of a neat little design conceit they did with Gan Ning. So in RotK, Gan Ning was known for wearing bells to let his enemies know he was coming in order to freak them out. And if you play as him, he does jingle as he walks around. Of course, it is a little silly in some of the missions he's in where you're supposed to be sneaking around. Also, I still find it odd that many DW fans are still clamoring for Sha Moke to become a character, when as far as I can tell all he did was have a bad-ass description of him in the books and kill Gan Ning. (and even then, he got killed soon afterward!)
TV commentary:
Community- I know some Jannie fans were upset, but I thought the show's little joke at their expense was in good fun. I don't think it was that dismissive of the ship.
Nikita- Heh, I'm amused the new dynamic of this show is Michael and Nikita as the "parental" types with Alex as their "kid". And they actually made Jaden more interesting! I do like how the ep played out though, with Alex deciding to stay in Division, because they can do "good work" at times, but Nikita being satisfied because Alex sacrificed her chance to escape to save Jaden, despite their problems with each other. Too bad Jaden, despite heroically telling Alex to blow the place with her in it, is also pretty self-serving. And now she's an full agent, with Percy liking her "initiative" in getting a sample of the nerve toxin.
Smallville- So this weeks comic guests of the week were Booster Gold and Blue Beetle (Jamie Reyes, though Ted Kord is also there, and the other Blue Beetle also gets a mention).
Supernatural- I thought this was a pretty entertaining ep. Particularly the way the Wild West was "grosser" than Dean was expecting, like with the homely, diseased, hookers. And the "Back to the Future 2" ending was hysterical.
Degrassi- Heh, so Claire does end up finally leaving Eli's crazy and manipulative ass after he insanely crashes his car to get her to see him at the hospital. And Anya reveals to Holly J that Fiona is crushing on her. It does lead to awkwardness, but luckily they fix that by the end. And finally, Jenna has her kid, in a very underwhelming way. This didn't really feel like a season finale!
Fringe- Looks like things are coming to a head, though that make sense since there's only a few episodes left til the season finale. ( spoiler cut )
