Argh! I had copied last night's Nikita off the PVR onto my portable hard drive since the CW doesn't put their shows online until four days later so I could just watch it on my laptop today, but I come to find out I copied the wrong friggin' episode! And from the previews I was all ready to see the fur fly when Owen walked in on Nikita and Michael in bed together!

Even more DW7 stuff: Since in my previous post I wasn't exactly sure how the lightning and ice elements differed since they both seemed to pause the enemy, decided to look it up. Not that that was anymore informative. I mean, it sounds like ice freezes the enemy and their def is lowered while frozen though I'm not sure if the freeze lasts longer than the lightning "shock"-stun. But lightning they definitely take extra damage. It seems people on the boards prefer lightning over ice.

But one thing I learned was there was a double-element seal, which basically lets you use the elements of both weapons you have equipped. I'll have to find that! Because wind broke guard and still did damage to blockinig enemies, but other than that it was kinda weak. But combining it with vorpal? I mentioned how awesome vorpal is in my last post. So combining vorpal and wind would be quite useful in the higher difficulties where the officers turtle up. So in my last post I talked about just choosing a secondary weapon with a lot of slots so you can get more seals, but I guess with double element seal you also want one with a good element to combine with the element of your main weapon?

So, I didn't realize there was a new trailer out for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City:

Actually, I had seen mentions of this game, but didn't really delve into it until now. So with the recent popularity of the Left 4 Dead franchise and the popularity of zombie scenarios in FPSes, Resident Evil is delving into this genre? It makes sense, it is a franchise about zombies. Though it seems there's a vocal portion of the fandom that hates what they see. Its like geez, they're just trying to get a piece of the pie, this isn't the new direction of the RE games, so calm the eff down. Also, they're upset because Leon gets killed off in the trailer back in Raccoon City. And the pedantic nerds are all, "How can Leon die, it changes history?" Its a friggin' "What If?" scenario! Its like you can never please anyone. They don't change anything, they get accused of being stale. But once they make radical changes everyone freaks the freak out and are all "How dare they change things!"

In any case, I think its pretty cool. Its a squad based shooter, where you play as members of a USS (Umbrella Security Service) team, like the one Hunk was on in RE2. But rather than looking like generic SWAT guy like Hunk did, they have more personalized outfits and abilities.

First off, you have the leader, Vector, who has a personal cloaking unit and is pretty handy with a knife. He seems bad-ass. There's the big guy, Beltway, who is obviously the tank and can also lay down explosives. Spectre is the sniper, don't know too much about what he can do. And finally there's the medic, Bertha. Who apparently talks like an evil German hottie scientist chick. I think they're an interesting addition to the RE universe.

Hmm, I was totally unaware until M told me that they're finally releasing the 4e version of the Assassin class in next week's D&D supplement release, "Heroes of Shadow". I hear the assassin class is basically just a reprint of the stuff in Insider, with minor tweaks. But this book isn't just about them anyways, its for all characters using the Shadow power source (as opposed to Martial, Divine, Arcane, Primal, or Psionic). So in addition to them, you have variations on warlocks, a vampire "class" (it does make sense mechanically, since any pc race can be turned into a vamp) plus the Blackguard.

I've always liked Blackguards, they're like Paladins, only not lame and stupid. I never understood the appeal of playing Paladins. "Oh, I'm so good! I'll help the weak and helpless for no reward other than the satisfaction of a job well done!" Ghey! All those bad-ass abilities are wasted on them. Which is why I like the Blackguard, you get Paladin-ish abilities, but with a cool black/death theme, and you're not restricted to being a goody-goody holier than thou zealot jag-off.

What is up with the SFW trailer (other than the title having "porn parody" in it) for Star Trek: TNG a XXX parody:

I mean, if not for the title, I don't think there's any way you'd think that was a pr0n from just seeing that! It seems more like the creator wanted to create their own ep (as they did fit it into Star Trek canon), but the only way they could ever get it done was to throw pr0n elements in. Its like, where's the corny double-entendres? The silly situations with sexy results? This looks like its trying to be serious!

Even the scene with Data and Tasha Yar, it looks like someone's corny fanfic ship for those too rather than foreplay!

Sporcle quizzes:

Name the TV show from the Main chracter II- I missed 8, though most of those were old shows. There was only one that's still on that I missed (but in my defense, I don't watch it), though I did miss a popular 90s sitcom and a popular 80s sitcom. But again, those weren't shows I watched.
