What's with all the Perry chyx with hit songs out right now? Katy Perry, of course, but also Kimberly Perry (and her brothers in the Band Perry) and Christina Perri (yeah, its spelled differently, but it sounds the same).

TV Commentary:

Smallville- This week's ep is the Teri Hatcher as Lois' dead mom that we only see in videotape one. So, with Dean Cain showing up as a Vandal Savage-esque character a few seasons ago, they've now had both Lois and Clark. But, that whole part of the ep is rather inconsequential to the other developments this episode. So this week's villain from the comics is Granny Goodness. Heh, they kinda mix things around here, with Granny Goodness still doing the orphanage thing on Earth, but the Female Furies are actually Earth girls she trained rather than chyx from Apokalips. I'm amused that they're all hot supermodel looking chyx, as opposed to some hot chyx and a few freaks. The only Furies I recognized were Lashina (she had a whip, so I assume that's her), Mad Harriet (though Granny Goodness only refers to her as "Harriet", but she's got the Freddy Krueger gloves), and there's a chick with boots who I assume is Stompa. But as I said, instead of Stompa being a big fattie with combat boots, she's a statuesque model with sexy thigh high boots.

In the end, Granny Goodness meets up with Glorious Godfrey, as well as Desaad, who we finally see. Apparently they're calling themselves Darkseid's unholy trinity?

Anyways, the big reveals this week all revolve around Tess. First, it turns out she was a product of Granny Goodness' orphanage, but had her memory erased about it by Granny Goodness herself. Interesting that Tess' nickname is Mercy, and Granny's pet in the comix is a dog named "Mercy". Coincidence? Because she was being called Mercy way before this Darkseid storyline, and I find it hard to believe the writers thought this far ahead.

Also, it turns out Tess is Lionel's daughter! What the?! I swear when she was first introduced, it seemed like she was someone who was crushing on Lex, and then earlier this season, she was acting as a mother figure to Lex's clone, now it turns out she's his half-sister? That's all kinds of messed up!

I was also confused by her heritage, because they said her mother was that Pamela chick, and I was trying to remember all of Lex's brothers on the show. There was that Grant Gabriel guy, who thought he was the real Julian Luthor but turned out to be a clone of him, but then there was Lucas (played by Stefan Salvatore, so weird, this show has had both the Salvatore brothers on this?). At first I thought, are they just forgetting about his existence and retconning things around and making Tess the child that one lady had? But turns out I was combining Pamela with another character- the crazy chick played by Blair Brown. She was the one who thought Clark was the kid Lionel forced her to put up for adoption, but it turns out she was Lucas' mother. Pamela was Lex's nanny who had cancer 1st season.

So ha, Lionel, in addition to having two sons with his wife, one of whom she smothered because she was a crazy person, knocked up his wife's nurse, Rachel, and had a son Lucas, and also knocked up his son's nanny, Pamela, and had a daughter, "Lutessa" (Glad she changed that to Tess!)? Cavorting with the hired help? Classy! But what else are you supposed to do when you're filthy rich? Well, besides naming buildings after yourself and hunting people for sport?

TV commentary:

Walking Dead- Its interesting that the show is totally new territory from the comic. spoiler cut )

Dexter- Interesting, if they manage to take out all of Lumen's attackers, will they start seeing each other? Will she start partnering up with him? I think they make a cute couple. Too bad something will prolly happen to mess what they have up. spoiler cut )

Chuck- You know, it wasn't until halfway through the ep when Summer Glau and Adam Baldwin finally had a scene together that I realized the whole stunt casting implications with the two of them. I was like, duh, they were on Firefly together. I thought she was just there because she was a hot chick nerds like. HA!

Gossip Girl- Is it wrong that I'm glad Juliet's scheme worked and Serena finally got the comeuppance she's been due? So despite saying the L word to each other, Blair's not getting back together with Chuck so she can find herself. I can only hope she's for real and they finally are off the two of them for a while. I mean, all this season, it seems like they are going to take a much needed break, but then they're back the very next episode!

90210- My only comment on this ep, so Navid's dad, a Jewish pornographer, is fleeing to Iran to avoid persecution? Because that's a country that would be totally fine with harboring someone who is both Jewish and makes pr0n.
