Cool, I didn't realize Penny Arcade mentioned the G.I.Joe Resolute mini-series in their new section this past Wednesday. They also link to Warren Ellis' blog article about the series. He was totally unfamiliar with G.I.Joe going into this, but mentioned how he did a lot of research once he accepted the job. And I can see that. The Storm Shadow-Snake Eyes thing in the show is definitely in the vein of the original comic backstory. There are major changes as I've said, but its also got elements of the original (Zartan killing SS's uncle, SS's jealousy of SE, etc). Then you have the Duke/Scarlett (cartoon) vs the Snake Eyes/Scarlett (comic) pairings. And I'm curious if that's why a certain change was made in how Snake Eyes became mute. ( spoiler cut )

Hmm, he also mentions how Lady Jaye isn't in Resolute. As I said in a previous post, I thought I had heard she was going to be and that she was gonna be a Starbuck-ish character, but Ellis says she isn't in the series. But I think he means he didn't write her in, because you definitely see her amongst the group of joes they do show. She just doesn't speak or do anything.
