Feb. 9th, 2009 07:41 amFinally got a chance to check out WoD: Inferno yesterday. Lots of neat stuff there. And from what I've seen, the new rules are somewhat simple and easy to integrate.
Anyways,
turdburgler asked me to post a list of all the shows I watch with a one sentence description, so here it is, by day: ( Really long, so I'm putting it under a cut )
I know, could I watch any more TV shows? I'm gonna pull a Sydney Pollack and say the three hour long drama shows from that list you SHOULD be watching are Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and Friday Night Lights. I think the Office, 30 Rock, and HIMYM (Its the new Friends!) are the funniest sitcoms on right now. Scrubs is really good too, and I think it has more heart than a lot of these hour long medical dramas.
And if I had to recommend anything else, I'd actually go with Chuck, Leverage, and Burn Notice. I mean, they're all fun action/comedies, with a little bit of drama thrown in every so often. So its a little bit of something for everyone, and I don't think you can go wrong with that.
I have started watching Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Its a neat little cartoon where every week Batman partners up with a different superhero. Its kinda a crash course in DC comics history as well, showcasing a lot of the smaller heroes and villains. Like this past ep, which focused on the Green Lantern corps. I was aware of Mogo, the Green Lantern who was a living planet. But I didn't know about G'nort (who for some reason sounds talks like Woody Allen in this show).
Speaking of the Green Lantern, since I'm nowhere near as familiar with DC as I am with Marvel, what's with all these other corps? Like when did Sinestro start having other people with the yellow power rings? And Star Sapphire, was it always the case she had a violet (then why is her name sapphire?) power ring, or did they retcon it since she had similar powers to Green Lantern and Sinestro and they wanted to do a color theme, with each color representing an emotion they derive their power from? So Green is force of will, Yellow (Sinestro's corps) is fear, and Violet (Star Sapphire's corps) is love? But there's also the Red Lanterns, powered by wrath, Orange Lanterns, motivated by greed, Blue Lanterns, who are all about hope, and Indigo Lanterns, who are all about compassion. There's apparently also Black Lanterns, who have power over the dead? Was I totally unaware of this this whole time? Or is whole thing something totally new to DC?
I've been seeing bits and pieces of the Dark Reign storyline in the Marvel Universe. So there's a Dark Avengers now? ( Spoiler cut, just in case )
