Jul. 2nd, 2007 04:04 amFinally, I'm able to post. I tried posting Saturday, but the stupid computer I was on had some protection software that for some reason flagged the posting page as "inappropriate". Ridiculously, it didn't flag my friends page, which I saw had all sorts of curse words on it. But I digress, then
7500centfish made a post from a different computer in the internet lounge of the hotel. (I thought the software would be across all the computers, but I guess not) So I switched comps and here I am. (No, I can't stay away from the internet, even on vacation!) EDIT: And what's with England have weird keyboards?! Certain symbols aren't in the right places!
Just here in merry old England right now. Geez, leaving for England, the news was talking about the car bombs and people arrested in London, then a few hours after we arrive, those crazies drove a fiery Jeep Wagoneer into one of the terminals of Glasgow airport. So the UK is in highest level of alert. Haven't seen what the US response is on the news yet.
Anyhoo, did some sightseeing of London. Did some browsing at Harrod's Saturday night, saw this and that Sunday morning, then went to Windsor Castle that afternoon. Interesting, I didn't realize those guards with the funny hats who never move wielded SA80s. Hopefully the product improved version that Heckler and Koch did for them. Heh, I still find it interesting that they had to get a German company to improve the flaws of both Britian's SA80 (to make the L85A2) and the US M4 (to make the HK 416). Night, had a taste of London, eating dinner at some place called Chez Gerrard. The appetizer choices included Scottish smoked salmon, and I had to get that because I never turn down smoked salmon. Then went for a cruise on the River Thames, it was windy and cold.
Oh, using the tube, saw more than a few hot English birds in ridiculously short skirts. Awesome. Oh, also, I didn't know London has more cameras watching then any other city. That's pretty interesting. Oh, in the underground, there were also lots of advertisments about citizens becoming "special constables". That sounds like that would be pretty cool volunteer job.
Right now, its like 5 in the morning, because we're about to take a train to mainland Europe. I think Amesterdam will be the first place we hit over there.
