300 was pretty awesome. The movie looks amazing- beautiful and brutal at the same time. Honestly, there's not much plot. There's a tiny bit of political intrigue, but for the most part it is what it is- 300 bad-asses holding their own against a million. Sure you've seen it all before- Helm's Deep, the Battle of Gondor, basically a long version of those battles or the ones in Gladiator or Braveheart. But it still looks awesome. Lots of fighting and bad-ass posturing and speeches. Its almost an exercise on how to be a bad-ass mother.

Although its also slightly gay- bunch of muscular guys in briefs, like haven't they heard or armor or something? And the crazy blonde dude and the Captain's son were kinda gay with their pretty boy looks and playful banter. Like in this scene the director and the Phantom of the Opera introduce in a preview. Not that I'd say they're seeming kinda ghey to their faces given that they're frickin' bad-ass. taylortownsendv('Who knew decapiation could be so beautiful?') But ha, I was trying to figure out who one of the main spartan guys was, and I was thinking he looked kinda like Sean Bean, but it was Faramir! Ha, well, I was close, since Sean Bean was Boromir. They were brothers!

All in all, it was a pretty good movie, I think. If you go to see a movie this weekend, let it be 300.

Wait, why is NBC showing a whole new episode of the Black Donnellys only online?! Is it not vital to the overall plot? I mean, watching it right now, it actually does seem relevant! And its not like its a bonus scene or two, its an entire episode!

EDIT: Okay, after watching this ep, I'm again stumped as to why they would relegate this to web only, unless they do a brief recap of what occured in this ep at the beginning of next weeks ep. God is a Comedian )

So I was looking at [livejournal.com profile] isabel79's post about which albums on NARM's Definite 200 albums you supposedly must own that she had. Hmm, let's see which of those 200 I have:

SHANIA TWAIN – COME ON OVER
NORAH JONES – COME AWAY WITH ME
DIXIE CHICKS – WIDE OPEN SPACES
GREEN DAY – DOOKIE
JEWEL – PIECES OF YOU
LINKIN PARK – HYBRID THEORY
TUPAC – ALL EYEZ ON ME
NELLY – COUNTRY GRAMMAR
DIXIE CHICKS – HOME
DIXIE CHICKS – FLY
CHRISTINA AGUILERA – CHRISTINA AGUILERA
SARAH MCLACHLAN – SURFACING
SHERYL CROW – TUESDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB
AVRIL LAVIGNE – LET GO

14 out of 200. Of course, you know this list is weird when they have three frickin' Dixie Chicks albums on it. And what the?! I own three Dixie Chicks albums?! (Okay, I'll admit I think they rock, I'm extremely lame that way) But talk about an amusingly odd mix of albums!
