Owel, just another Sunday morning at work. Lean on Me was on when I came in. After that, switched to Three Men and a Little Lady, and now watching Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Getting back to 3-MaLL, the end has one of those scenes where the protagonist stops their love from marrying some jerk or bitch during the wedding ceremony. You see such a thing in the movies and TV all the time, but I wonder if that has ever happened in real life. Because, how akward would that be if you're a wedding guest? And if they do the thing where two different people get married, do they still get to keep the gift? I mean, is there still a reception afterwards? And why would those belonging to the party of the person who gets jilted still be there? Then again, I guess they got all dressed up, and hey, free food, and maybe even an open bar, so why not hang around?

One of the roomie's friends from Peachland, ChrisC, has been staying over, I assume as a stopover before heading to south GA for Thanksgiving. Him and the roomie have been playing LotR: the third age. That's interesting that you can actually play that 2-player. I guess its been done before, but its still a way for multiple people to have fun with the game if they're not just content with watching. Had dinner at Mama Fu's, I got the basil rolls and the curry rolls. I think I've said this before, but the curry rolls seem just like over sized Lumpia. I wonder if we'll have that at Thanksgiving. (I know, my family always has a strange menu for Thanksgiving) I mean, there's still a turkey, and a glazed honey baked ham is always a must, but they seem to mix it with pastas and flip cuisine. They seem to only whip out the big samich for New Year's though. Damn, I'm getting hungry just thinking about things. Where is Thanksgiving anyways? My rents house or your place, [livejournal.com profile] isabel79?

Started to watch some of the DVDs [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler loaned me while the guys played poker. Very intertesting. I think [livejournal.com profile] phatjoe threw in Donkey Konga into the Game Cube at some point as I was going to sleep. Weird game, all I know is I could hear them having to play along to the B-52's "Rock Lobster" and Devo's "Whip It".

So what else have I watched since coming in at 7? Well after the three mentioned in my last post, As Good As it Gets, Alex and Emma, Problem Child 2, and Dawn of the Dead. How fortunate that these survivors always manage to find abandoned police cruisers, or are near a gun shop or Wal-mart so they can get their hands on a couple of shotguns or handguns. And those are good choices, but they shouldn't over look the semi-automatic rifle. I mean, its moderately powerful, and with a minimal amount of training one can prolly lay down effective and accurate fire at a much longer range. And it'll be good for hunting when you start needing to hunt for food.

And if these peeps used better sense and tactics, they prolly would have a higher chance of surviving. One, dress up in protective gear! I mean, you don't need to be armored up like a riot cop, because in a crowd, all that armor will bog you down anyways and you'll get overwhelmed. Mobility is prolly more important. But grabbing some arm and leg protection would be real smart. After all, you're sticking your extremities in harms way to kick or push the zombies back, and when they lunge at you, your reaction is most likely to put your arms up. So wrap them up, so you don't get accidentally bitten!! Also, when retreating, don't just start firing haphazardly! Alternate your fire, that way, you always have a shield of lead protecting you. How many times do you see these peeps getting overwhelmed because they were stuck reloading. And if you have to reload, make sure there's someone shooting in front of you instead of standing there vulnerable! Have the tail guys fire, and as soon as they're out, the guys behind them fire and cover them while they get behind them, reloading as they do. Then when those guys are up, the next set guys of fire and cover the tail, and so forth!
