My DVDs came in the mail on Monday, so that was awesome. I was kinda put off when I came back from work at 3pm and the mail hadn't arrived yet. So I killed some time at the mall. Alas, the cute girl at the video game store has a boyfriend. I was of course back a few hours later when the roomie tried to get the new LotR game, but given his distaste for lines, he decided to try and get it some other time. We had eaten dinner at Umezono's with [livejournal.com profile] clevemire, [livejournal.com profile] dashoka, and C-note, then saw the Incredibles afterwards. It was pretty awesome, I enjoyed it. And though I had seen the new RotS trailer, it was cool to see it on the big screen.

Dang, the complex is gonna start painting our building, and they told residents to take down their dishes or they would be taken down. Of course, they also said to do that when they were replacing the wood paneling, but they didn't. Its all total BS anyways. They've been trying to get people off dishes for the longest time now. I think they got some deal from Comcast and have been trying to come up with some excuse to get people to take their dishes down and be forced to switch to Comcast. I mean, when I'm in the leasing office and I overhear them talking about the dishes, that's what it sounds like. I was amused by the one time I was there and one of the leasing guys was telling one of the maintenance guys to start telling people they need to take down their dishes and was all "they should be getting cable anyways". And the maintenance guy said he had a dish so the leasing guy felt stupid and was all, "Uh, I'm sure we can make an exception for you." Not surprisingly, the maintenance guy did nothing for getting rid of the dishes. Anyways, sure Dish sucks during really bad weather, but its a better price than cable for what we get. I remember this one guy trying to get us on cable, and I was thinking to myself, there is just no way he can give us a better deal. I mean, the supposedly good offer he had cost more and gave us less channels. And they don't have time-shifted WBs, so no matter what, we'd have a degradation in service. Owel, hopefully the dish won't be down tonight or tomorrow. If they do take it down, I don't mind not having it from Friday to Sunday, because there's nothing I watch then. Well, except for Arrested Development. But that's just one half hour show that the GMA prolly Tivos anyways. Anyways, if its after Thursday, that still gives us time to remount it before any of the shows I watch come back on. Though I guess if I do miss it, I can get the eps online, which I did with last weeks Veronica Mars, which was pretty good. And so comes Tuesday night TV talk:

Veronica Mars is still very good. Like I've said before, they do a good balance between the case of the week while still revealing more about the various characters and dropping more clues (and opening up more quesions!) about what really happened with Lilly Kane's murder. clues, student elections, enemies bonding, and runaways )

Looks like I'll be working M-F 7-3 next semester. I was worried with Mike P leaving and leaving us understaffed again that they might start moving people around. But it looks like they came up with a plan. It'll be nice to have weekends back. Granted, there's a certain appeal to be off on the weekdays when everyone else is working, but I'd like to go back to being able to doing stuff Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Of course, having to wake up on those cold winter mornings at 6am sucks, because I just don't want to get out of bed when its that cold and I'd prefer to just wrap myself up in my blanket and lie there and go back to sleep.
