I am a damn moron. When I got into work this morning, I actually locked my keys in my car. With the engine running. I used to have a spare in my backpack, but I had taken it out several months ago. So I desperately tried to reach Krug, but since we only have the one phone right now, and its downstairs, it was doubtful that he could hear it. So, next I tried the campus police, who told me to call parking. Oh, and warned me not to do that again. Excuse me? Uh, I didn't actually intend to lock my keys in my car. I can understand them saying that if I had actually mentioned the engine was still running, but I didn't. For all they know, I'm just some dumb schmuck who accidentally locked his keys in his car.
Tried the Parking office, but either I heard the number wrong on my cell, or something. Then Terri from worked pulled in. I asked her if she knew the actual number at parking. She admitted she didn't, but she told me Parking won't be a help, they'll take forever to get there, and to instead ask Jerry, the Facilities guy, because he knows someone who could prolly get it opened. So I did, but when he called his guy, they told him that duty got relegated to Parking. So he tried Parking, and they said they would meet me outside. I had managed to get a hold of Krug after waiting five minutes for the parking guy. Who never showed up. Krug finally got there with my spare key, so I thanked him and unlocked my car. Its ridiculous though. Krug, coming from home which is about ten minutes away, managed to get there before anyone from Parking, which is under a minute by car. Owel, I called them afterwards and told them they didn't need to send their guy. They claimed they were looking for me, but I'm incredulous.
