geebsWow, I've been writing here pretty sparsely as of late. Between work and gaming and collecting and TV watching, just haven't had time to write anything.
Actually caught up on gaming- new characters released on SFV and MK11. But I've finally completed everyone's character towers in MK11 so far. But there's still stuff to get from random towers, so I got to check in the game to see if anything new pops up. Got all the endings for Poison, Lucia, and Honda in SFV (and beat Easy and Normal survival mode for them to boot).
But yeah, I guess MK still has characters coming out, and Tekken and Soul Calibur have a new set of characters coming out in the next few months.
TV commentary:
Preacher- Heh, I totally forgot about that! When Cass killed that one angel, and they showed back up to open the door and fly them out of there, I was all, "Oh, that's interesting!" and it wasn't until hours later that I remembered that was something they established angels could do way back in season 1.
Killjoys- I have my fingers crossed for one thing. That they don't do the "bury your gays" trope before the end of the series. One, because I like to see queer characters we follow make it, and two, I want to be able to enjoy fan content without people complaining about so and so getting killed off. Like I give the Green Queens 50-50 for surviving, because lets face it, even though they're trying to do better, they have racked up a lot of bad karmer in the earlier seasons.
I'm a little more hopeful that Pree and Gared will make it- the fact the Khlyen actually covered for Gared, hiding his relationship to Pree from the lady and sending him off to find Pree instead of having him be a casualty to give the good guys manpain is a good thing.
The Rook- Heh, was that what the whole season was about? Myfanwy had a lot of baggage going into the Cheque, so her memory getting erased and finding herself basically put her in better touch with her powers, so now she can be as powerful as people expected her to be?
Also, Gestalt doing that tactical espionage action in the last ep did look pretty neat.
Glow- Weird, did I really not comment on this? Hopefully this get renewed for a third season, because there are so many interesting plot points they've set up. You have Bash's journey, like he's now just coming to terms that he's gay, only to have to go back in the closet for this new deal Debbie set up (more on that in a sec). And its like, it kinda sucks for Rhonda, but them getting married was prolly the best thing to happen for the both of them. She got to stay in the country, and I think really came into her own, and she got his act together.
But yeah, Debbie basically steals the station deal from her presumably soon to be ex bf, and it could mean big things for all of them. But they have to keep it quiet, so Debbie was unable to keep Carmen from quitting out of boredom and not doing "real wrestling". And she did spill the beans to Ruth, but in such a way that Ruth had to turn her down. Telling her to basically forget acting, that if she was going to make it, she woulda made it already prolly wasn't the best sell.
And its interesting, I don't think Ruth was even mad at that. Like she said its basically something she has to do, and that deep down, Debbie should understand why she's doing this. Because they really are similar in so many ways.
And heh, seriously, and Justine is still totally unaware that Sam totally had a heart attack in the middle of their pitch meeting?!
Elementary- A little annoyed, but it was a fine ending. Like I was hoping they'd get Natalie Dormer back, but I can understand them not wanting to bring her back because it was overshadow the characters. Well, they shoulda brought her back earlier then.
But everyone lived happily ever after, so that was good.
