Feb. 24th, 2019 08:09 pmFinally got around to seeing Anna and the Apocalypse. Seriously, what the eff?! This supposed to be a musical comedy, but could there be any more emotional gut punches in this?! John. Chris and Lisa. Tony. And then the final song, where its like, "Okay, let's just revisit all that and twist the knife even further!"
And even after Steph rescues Anna and Nick, they replay "Hollywood Ending" as they drive off. So they get away, but there's the death of their friends and family weighing on them. To quote Adam Sandler from 50 First Dates, "You sick bastard, you're sick, why would you do this to me!"
Heh, I'm guessing the movie just didn't want to be predictable, but did it have to be so cruel?! Still, great movie.
TV commentary:
Legacies- Heh, its hilarious how much Penelope evolved over the series. Like, when we first learn of her, she seems like she's this mischievous bitch who broke Josie's heart. But then we find out Penelope still cares for her, and hates Lizzie for taking up so much of her sister's time thatJosie doesn't have room for anyone else.
And seriously, she's the soft one, and Josie the one who's kinda mean. I mean, lest we forget, Josie set Penelope on fire in the first ep. Meanwhile Penelope is like passing her notes all "read this when you're alone" like she's a fucking grade schooler.
Seriously, I really hope they don't waste this relationship, they have something here with Posie. Even though this whole group is ridiculous with the romantic entanglements. MG like Lizzie, Lizzie likes Raf. Raf like Josie and Hope. Penelope likes Josie. Josie kinda likes Raf and doesn't want to admit she still likes Penelope. Hope likes Landon, but is giving Raf a vibe. Hope also has a kinda thing with Josie. And the no-Salvatore school wishverse shows they woulda been a thing.
And now the adults have it too. Ric likes Emma, but she just started going out with Dorian. And ha, Alaric and Emma kiss, and they think its the mind worm, only Emma was the only one infected. Wow, that's gonna be awkward.
