TV commentary:

Legacies- Heh, interesting ep. So Lizzie is in a bad mood because her father the dolt missed Caroline's texts that the girls were coming home early and forgot to pick them up. Which makes her easy pickings for the monster of the week, a jinni.

The jinni pulls an Anyaka and has Lizzie experience crazy worlds resulting from her simple wishes. Her first wish- that Hope never came to the Salvatore school. Lizzie's excited, because her father is spending more time with them than with Hope. The bad result- since Hope never went there, Klaus didn't feel compelled to donate all that money to it. Which, I'm a little skeptical, Klaus donated all that money because of Caroline. Hope benefiting from it was a side bonus.

But yeah, the school's a shithole. Heh, so Lizzie tries to fix things by pulling out a magical globe from the basement that detects supers. She's all, they can use that to find better students. And they find a big bright spot in NOLA. Which for some reason Lizzie doesn't see coming, like she's legit surprised when they find Hope. Like who the frick else did she think would be a huge spot in New Orleans?!

Anyways, hilariously, Alaric and Hope bond instantly, and Lizzie is seething with jealousy. So her next wish was that there was no Salvatore school at all. And so she and Josie go to MF High, with Alaric being a barely functional alcoholic teacher there.

It quickly sours for Lizzie when in this reality, Josie's the dominant twin, going out with Connor and best friends with Dana. Josie's cool, and Lizzie is this loser. Eventually, Lizzie has a literal blowup, exposing her powers in front of the whole school. Alaric thinks he needs to flee with his daughters, but Hope shows up with Kaleb, Jed, and Pedro in tow.

In this reality, since there's no Salvatore school, Klaus opened up the Mikaelson school for her instead. And its so successful, he's opening a European branch, and as such needs a new headmaster to handle things here. Heh, Alaric is over the moon, because this is what he's always wanted in any reality.

And to rub salt in the wound, this Josie and Hope get totally flirty. So Lizzie is angry again, so the Jinni tells her she needs to be more specific about her desires. And so Liz wishes for Hope to have never been born.

Which really turns things to shit. Without Hope to calm him down, Klaus goes freaking nuts. Heh, and they secretly sneak in that Caroline is by his side. Anyways, Liz wakes up in a post apocalyptic world. Klaus' antic have started a war with Triad Inc. She returns to the school to find them holding a wake for Josie. Amusingly enough, she misses how angry Penelope is at her, and it takes her like a while to figure out she killed her own sister.

How? Apparently one of the refuges they bump into tells the twins about their legacy. And this makes Liz ultra paranoid, and she becomes obsessed with beating Josie. And she ends up accidentally killing her before the merge even takes place. Anyways, this is obviously the worst world for her, and she think she fucked up because it was her third wish.

But the Jinni is all, genies don't just give three wishes. And she'll let Lizzie wish this away- for the urn. But Lizzie knows that letting the urn go will prolly be very bad. So she tries to figure out a loophole while her father and the students take on Triad. And hey, Penelope gets to be bad ass.

Anyways, Lizzie realizes the jinni needs her to wish in order to get the urn, so she has the control. So she makes a wish that the jinni will want to fulfill. So she wishes the jinni never meets whoever sent her to Malivore. That way, Malivore no longer controls her, and she's free to do what she wants.

Lizzie congratulates herself on being clever, but the Jinni tells her there's a twist. Her memory of all this will be erased since she will never have met the Jinni to make these wishes. But while she won't remember any of it, she'll still have some inkling of what happened.

And so she'll know something is wrong, and when she inevitably finds out about the merge, the residual memories will somehow cause things to play out the same way, and she'll end up killing Josie. Hopefully, things don't go that way!
