TV commentary:

Legacies- Well, Penelope got a whole lot more interesting! We still don't know exactly why they broke up, but turns out there's a reason Penelope's been catty towards Lizzie. I thought she was just being petty, but turns out she has noticed how much Josie does for her sister, even putting her own needs and wants aside. And Penelope's mad (maybe that's why they broke up, Penelope kept bringing up this fact and it became a sore spot?) at Lizzie for that. So as she says, since Josie won't stand up for herself, she's going to do it for her.

But the results of the Honor Council elections are quite interesting. Penelope tanked Lizzie's chances and got Josie elected the witch representative (again, Penelope was all, did you even check if Josie wanted to be rep instead?). Raf beats the hell out of Jed to become Alpha and thus the werewolf rep. Jed said he was going to make sure Landon gets tossed out as punishment for Jed not showing him respect. So Raf usurped leadership so he would have the vote.

MK tries to get Kaleb to make sure the other vamps to vote for him in exchange for getting Kaleb out of jail. Only Kaleb steals the vote for himself, to make things even. Heh, and Hope declares herself as the tribrid representative, even though there's only one of her. And Emma represents the younger students.

Alas, Emma and Raf vote to keep Landon. Hope says no, because he got beat up by Jed in revenge, and she feels the place is too dangerous for him. They can't watch him all the time. Kaleb is distrustful of humans, all slippery slopes and thinking if they let Landon in, these norms will take the school over. Lizzie is the deciding vote, and she votes no. Her family has almost gotten killed multiple times since he came, so she wants to keep them safe.

Needless to say, Raf is pretty pissed. He bumps into Lizzie when trying to use the gym to vent his frustrations. Which is right after Penelope told Lizzie off. Lizzie, hurt over losing the election and what Penelope said, grabs Raf for some sexin'. And Raf, kinda pissed at Josie for voting out Landon, goes with it.

For her part, Hope does send Landon to NOLA for help from a family friend (Vincent? Marcel?) to find his mom and maybe figure out what's up with him. Interestingly enough, when Hope did magical tests on him, he shows up as totally mundane. Which Emma finds weird, because most people have some trace of magical blood from some far flung ancestor.

In the end, we see him look at his mom's picture, and she's wearing a necklace with a mysterious symbol. One that's lost on him, but ties into the other plot of the ep.

Dorian and Alaric manage to capture a Dryad, and try to question her. She'll only agree if they find her love, Oliver, who is a vampire. Only when they find him, he has no idea who she is. And this provides some insight into why they have no idea what dragons or gargoyles or dryads are. Apparently, something made everyone else forget about them, which is why Oliver didn't remember her.

But, she accepts that they fulfilled their part of the deal, and tells them she had a supernatural compulsion to go after the knife, to drop it in some black pit deep in the Earth. As she says this, she absent mindedly draws a symbol. The same symbol as Landon's mom's necklace!

Anyways, eventually the compulsion becomes too much for her, and she attacks the guys for the knife, and Dorian is forced to mortally wound her in self defense. But hey, he takes her to some field she directed him to, and turns into a giant tree!
