Riverdale- Heh, its like musical chairs! So despite Hiram and Manetta's best efforts (which includes murdering the witnesses that were paid off), Archie is exonerated! Which, Ronnie assumed her dad hid the unedited video on her mom's computer to "keep it close, but not too close". But even though some of the gang thinks he may be behind the Gargoyle King stuff, I'm skeptical he would be so careless to hide the video in a folder with one of the weird G&G symbols. I'm thinking someone else led V to that video, using the symbol to draw her attention.
Anyways, Archie's free, but he's not coming back. Between Hiram and his goons, and possibly the Gargoyle King and his minions (which Jug thinks might not be separate groups), he thinks its best for his loved ones to stay away until they can figure things out. Jug goes with him to watch his back. Which is bad for Betty.
Why? Well, Betty's been asking the parents about the G&G stuff, going hard now that Josie has also experienced a seizure. Penelope claims it was Dilton's dad who poisoned the chalices out of some sort of obsession with her and wanting to ascend together. But, he conveniently killed himself soon after telling Penelope that a long time ago. Only Betty bribes coroner guy, who says that the autopsy showed he was already dead before supposedly suffocating himself with a running car in a garage.
In fact, it seemed he was poisoned by Oleander, which Tom says when he was investigating the death, saw growing in Penelope's garden. Anyways, Betty's getting too close, because someone puts a scare into her and Alice at their house. Which causes Alice to run to the Farm with Polly and the babies. Only, since she's doing that, there's no one to protect Betty at home. So, she has her committed to the Sisters of Mercy.
And like I said, Archie and Jug are out of town, and Ronnie is in the middle of a war with her dad, so it might take a while for anyone to notice she's gone. And despite her mom's best efforts, it looks like the Sisters of Mercy may be in with the Gargoyle King, as the art room we see Betty in is full of other patients drawing him.
Oh, and poor Joaquin is dead! Jug gets Fangs and Sweet Pea to track him down and they capture him. They manage to get info out of him, saying the symbol branded into Archie means sacrifice. They find him dead later, poisoned and with the sacrifice symbol written on his forehead.
