TV commentary:

The Expanse- Well, color me surprised! Well, sort of. So loads of people question Holden, and Ashford does take Holden's visions to heart, but a little too well. So Holden says he saw visions of the ring burning whole solar systems- not out of malice, but because basically its some fancy kinda sentient roadway and would attack anything it saw as a threat to the "system".

So in their efforts to try and communicate outside the ring, they end up freaking out the central station, which starts pulsating towards something. So Ashford thinks they pissed it off and it was going to destroy not just them, but the solar system, so he and the UNN and MRCN leadership agree to power up the tightbeam array to form a superlaser to destroy the gate. It would trap them where they were forever, but at least the rest of the system would be safe.

To be fair, Ashford was trying to be noble. Like relatively cooler heads seemed to be prevailing right now. But if they managed to get out safely without setting anything off, it would only be a matter of time before someone else comes in to study it, or exploit it. And possibly accidentally do something to destroy all of humanity. So in his book he thought destroying the ring would be the best course of action in the long run.

But Holden finally talked to Miller again, and they didn't need to be so drastic. The ring station only captured them because it though the ships were giant fusion missiles, and it can't differentiate between the two. So all they need to do is power off their engines and the station will no longer think they're a threat and let them go.

Unfortunately, Ashford won't listen. So basically, the As (Amos, Alex, and Anna) go see Monica and convince her to broadcast their plea to shut down the engines on all the ships captured, while Holden, Naomi, and Drummer (who's still recovering and ends up jurying rigging some exoskeleton legs to give her movement) shut down the Behemoth's reactor themselves.

So, there's a bunch of gunplay. Lucky for Monica and the As, Bobbie is the one who was tasked with stopping them (sans armor, which they were forced to take off in order to board the behemoth and was stolen by Diogo and some men to chase down Holden). So Alex convinces her there way is right, and Bobby ends up knocking out girl marine while Amos pops boy marine in the head, though Bobbie is shot during the altercation (albeit not fatally)

But yeah, Diogo is chasing down Holden, Naomi, and Drummer, and the armor makes him and his guys a tough nut to crack. Heh, so yeah, with Drummer wounded even more, she decides to stay behind and blow herself up and take Diogo with her. She like hides in an alcove, ready to strike, and I was lamenting that they were going to kill her off, but then I thought, wait, this is incredibly cliche! And sure enough, Naomi drops an elevator on Diogo to take him out, so Camina lives!

The three of them get to the control room of the Behemoth and confront Ashford. Lucky for them, Clarissa had a change of heart. Listening to Holden in the brig (where she was thrown after the Roci crew got on board the Behemoth), she started to see he wasn't a bad man, that he just wants to do right by humanity. Then fortune smiled even further, because with Naomi gone, they needed all the techs they could to adjust the laser, and remember, she was disguised as a tech. Heh, she even convinced Ashford to remove the device that had been suppressing her implants. Because for some reason the Roci crew did not impress upon the Behemoth folks how dangerous she was. But, I guess it worked out for them in the end.

So yeah, Clarissa ends up siding with Holden and takes a bullet as she shuts down the reactor. And with everyone off, the station reacts accordingly, letting them go, powering them back up, and opening all the other pathways in the gate sphere.

Which its definitely a great miracle for humanity, but Ashford's sentiment was right, its only a matter of time before someone does something stupid with this and doom humanity. Holden worries about it too.

In the end, Clarissa is possibly on the path to redemption? Drummer has a drink with Ashford, I guess showing there's no hard feelings. And Bobbie is with the Roci crew- wonder if she was discharged since she attacked her fellow marines? In any case, things are set up to be pretty crazy for next season. And had it not been picked up by Amazon, it would've been frustrating, but that would've been a decent stopping point.
