TV commentary:

The Americans- HA!!! Okay, Paige telling her mother, "You're a whore!! Does dad know he married a whore?!" is like my new favorite line of hers since, "what are we supposed to do, go to Russia and speak Russian?!" But yeah, Paige randomly finds out about Jackson, who was getting drunk at an intern party Brian took her to. He was crying about some older woman seducing him, and Paige puts 2 and 2 together and questions Elizabeth.

Elizabeth denies it of course, but Paige knows the truth, in a way she always knew the truth. So she wonders if that's why her parents marriage is a shambles, because she's been sleeping around. So of course Elizaebth goes on the defensive saying both of them fucked around, that's the job. So needless to say, Paige is very upset at her mother being a lying liar.

Which is amusing given Elizabeth's conversation with Claudia not a few hours before. (Apologies for going through this ep backwards) So, Elizabeth watches that guy, and lo and behold, there's another assassination attempt, which Elizabeth thwarts by shooting the would be assassin. And its Tatiana! Poor lady, Oleg basically ruined her career, this was her way back, and she prolly didn't even expect being killed by the original assassin was a possibility.

So anyways, Elizabeth tells Claudia she stopped the assassination attempt, and told everyone back home everything! Claudia is pretty disappointed in Elizabeth, she thought she had a smart, loyal soldier there. But Elizabeth says she does her job, their mistake was lying to her. (So yeah, its kinda funny to hear her say that and then totally lie to Paige's face, despite her daughter telling her, "if you lie to me right now, I'll never forgive you!")

But Lizzie's counting her chickens before they're hatched. Yes, she contacted "people from back home" to tell them of the plot, but that person was Oleg, who ended up getting picked up by the FBI when he was picking up said dead drop from Philip! So their coup hasn't been exposed yet.

Still, Oleg implores Stan to send the message. He only tells Stan and lays the plot out for him, he was trying to stop some KGB guys from ousting Gorbachev. Stan is all, "I don't care about your internal politics!" But Oleg pleads his case. The reason he's willing to risk thirty years of jail here is for his loved ones back home. He wants a better country for them to live in. So he asks Stan, does he really think it doesn't matter who's in charge for that to happen. We don't see Stan's reaction yet, but hopefully he'll come through!

Anyways, yeah, Stan's totally paranoid about the Jennings now. Visiting Philip at work, and for all the talk about Stan being clueless about his best friend being a KGB agent, its like, hey, the Jennings have NO idea Stan is even suspicious of them now! He even calls Pastor Tim, who does end up covering for them.

Of course, Philip almost getting picked up by the other Feds. So Aderholt and Wolf question one of those priests. Who basically throws Father Andrei under the bus and totally says he has ties to "back home". Lucky for Philip, he's a damn good spy. So when he's meeting with Father Andrei, who informs him that the feds were talking to his rival, Philip realizes pretty quickly its a trap and Andrei's being watched. He warns Andrei to leave asap, and then takes off.

Philip manages to elude the FBI and warn Elizabeth back home. Which man, that must be an emotional roller coaster for her. She just turned on her old mentor, her daughter told her she hates her forever, and she's prolly still processing killing a fellow agent. Philip calling her and giving the "we're in trouble and need to run" code is the last thing she was expecting that night. But yeah, she packs their go bag, and that's where the ep ends. It'll definitely be interesting to see how the finale plays out!
