The Expanse- So the Roci (I know that's not its name right now but whatever) comes upon some Martian wreckage, which they start to salvage since they're low on ammo. During the operation, they find some survivors, two of whom are played by Zeph and Pippin from Killjoys.
Initially, they're thankful to be rescued, until they find out they haven't been rescued by their fellow Martians, but by Holden and his band, in a stolen Martian gunship. The martians are kept on lockdown, and Alex tries to make nice with them, only to have that kindness paid by being beat up and disarmed.
Zeph leads the mutiny (is it a mutiny if they're not part of the crew? I guess its just a plain take over?) and marches Alex up to the control room to make demands of Naomi, the only one there at the time (Amos and Prax are continuing their salvage op, Holden, Chrisjen, and Bobby are just randomly in other rooms). The non-Killjoys Martian is sent to the armory to get some weapons, where he runs into Holden. Holden chokes the guy out, sounds a silent alarm, and confronts the Martians, gun drawn.
He tells them to stand down before Amos gets there, because Amos will just kill them. Which is when Bobbie shows up to defuse the situation. Heh, Pippin is already to give up, because he recognizes her uniform as that of a Recon Marine, so he knows she could disarm and kill them without breaking a sweat. But she manages to talk things out. She tells Zeph that the biggest thing she had to learn after becoming this big bad-ass was to know the enemy. Because what use is she if she's not pointed the right direction. Draper says the Roci crew are not the enemy. Which gets Zeph to give up.
And just in time too, as Amos arrives just then, disappointed he missed the action. Which, quick aside, on the ship, he has an interesting reaction to Prax pushing aside some frozen Martian corpse to get to some supplies. He doesn't say anything, but he seems almost appalled at Prax just moving the body aside as if it were a box.
Anyways, Holden and Bobbie take Pippin to meet Chrisjen. Which, I'm glad they had him be all, "James Holden, Bobbie Draper, AND Chrisjen Avasarala?! What kinda ship is this!?" Because that would be kinda bonkers to see all of them together in some random ship. Anyways, Chrisjen tasks him with giving a copy of the recording of Errinwright's confession to the commander of whatever ship they get on when they go back to the Martian staging area at Jupiter.
She wants him to get the Captain to contact Souther and show this to him. Pippin is skeptical, like hailing an enemy admiral in the middle of a war? But Chrisjen thinks they can trust this kid to do it, and tells him it could help end the war.
Besides, she also sent a copy to Anna- she watched Sorento-Gillis give a speech in front of the UN (more on that in a sec) and recognized Anna there, knowing she is someone that would be sympathetic to their cause. Heh, two things though, 1)they don't know that Souther has currently been cast aside, his ship taken over by one of Errinwright's cronies. And 2) that Anna has just quit.
I mean, she's pissed because she wrote a great speech for her old friend, but Errinwright got into the guys head and twisted it. So instead of a call to peace, it ended up being a rally cry to fight those evil Martians! So damn right she's mad. And she just told her wife she's going home, she washes her hands of this. Only now, having just secretly received this confession, she can't leave!
Other stuff- on IO, the kid who's advanced the farthest in "hybridism" ends ip taking apart on of the scientists like one would dissect a frog in biology class. Its pretty horrifying, it reminds me of that one ep of Doctor Who with the 2d creatures. Seriously, the image of the nervous or circulatory system on the walls, which seemed like wallpaper but really was just the remains of some poor minor character still horrifies me to this day.
But yeah, the kid starts speaking for the Protomolecule collective, and Mao is pleased, ready to restart the project after this new development. Which is fine and all, but its weird that he was grinning evilly while still in the same room! Dude, that kid just tore apart a person! Maybe look on with evil admiration from the safety of another room!
Oh, and I almost forgot, we see Drummer recover the Nauvoo. Man, that thing is huge!
