TV commentary:

Riverdale- Musical episode! It seems like a lot of beefs get quashed through song. Betty/Veronica, Cheryl/Josie, even Alice's heartfelt performance during rehearsal gets Betty to reunite her parents. Also, it still weirds me out that they're only now realizing Chic wasn't Hal's. I mean, I guess that was part of the hostility, that deep down he knew Chic wasn't his? But did they ever explain why they gave him away back when they thought he was both of theirs?

Ha, it cracks me up that Toni's like whatevs when Cheryl casually mentions burning down Thornhill and cutting off her mom's oxygen. And its interesting to see Barb from Stranger Things doing so many musical things as of late- first Rise, now this. But yeah, its implied she sent the threatening letters pretending to be the Black Hood and promising murder if Cheryl doesn't drop out of being Carrie, because the whole she cut those letters out for a mood board is kinda weak.

But yeah, poor Ethel, even after Cheryl drops out, Kevin already had Midge waiting as an understudy. Poor Midge though, she gets murdered at the end, which were the letters really from the Black Hood and Ethel was just a red herring? Or did Ethel send those letters, and BH used the opportunity to come out of hiding.

If this isn't really the Black Hood, there are plenty of candidates for Midge's murder. Like I said, the letters cast suspicion on Ethel, and Midge took the part she wanted after Cheryl vacated it (not out of fear, but because Penelope didn't give permission). And then there's Moose, who seemed pretty angry at Midge opening night, possibly because she might've had a fling with Fangs?

Of course, Chic, the suspected BH for a long time shows back up, and also sees Alice and Hal back together, and then the murders start again? Coincidence?

The Originals- Well, that's incredibly ominous! So Klaus has been tempting fate, having a conversation with Elijah, which causes water to turn to blood around the Mikaelsons, wherever they may be. In between talking to his brother, Klaus has been playing the madman (and avoiding his daughter because of his own daddy issues), and murdering enemies (and heir of enemies), ostensibly to protect Elijah who has tons of family enemies that he unfortunately doesn't remember. Lucky for him, Caroline happens to be in France as well to talk some sense into him.

Back in the states, Hope is making some really bad decisions- she gives a bullied werewolf at school a vial of her blood so he can turn into a hybrid. Well two, one to turn, and one to stabilize himself. And he's not discrete about killing himself to turn, doing a high dive off the roof (because if he didn't go big, he might not die and just heal)

Heh, like her, I didn't see the big deal at first, because I forgot there actually aren't many hybrids anymore- just Klaus and Hayley, now this kid Henry. Who we quickly find out is sired to Hope. They're both suspended and shipped back to NOLA, where things turn to shit quickly because he's young, so when random cute and nice vampire bartender girl bumps into him on the street, he ends up losing control and killing her.

So the vamps are out for blood, and since NOLA has had seven years of peace, they're due for some chaos. Which is bad for Freya's personal life- Keelin is in Lebanon with Doctors without Borders and wants Freya to join her, but she doesn't want to leave when shit hits the fan. But Vincent tells her she should- he doesn't know if they can stop all this from erupting into disaster anyways. So she should get out while she can, at least one of them can be happy.

Anyways, Hayley tries to keep the peace, calling for cooler heads- Poppy was a well liked vampire, but Henry is just a kid. its a tragedy, but the werewolves won't stand for the vamps killing one of their own (well, his mom won't, a Hybrid isn't going to be popular with either side.) Too bad she gets jumped and disappears. Popular theory going around- Hope engineered all this consciously or subconsciously in order to force her father's return.

Because yeah, Klaus calls Hayley to see what to do about their daughter, only to be unprepared to talk to Hope herself. Hope tells him her mom is missing, so he heads back. Also heading back? Marcel! Marcel and the Bekster have been living happily in NYC for the past 7 years. He wants to marry her, but she's still worried about her family. Also, she tells him he can't lecture her, because he's still involving himself in NOLA interests through Josh.

He gives her an ultimatum, but she ends up chickening out and going to see Elijah in France. Which yeah, with Rebekah leaving him, there's nothing keeping him from taking back New Orleans. So he's heading back there too. So the city is about to be a powder keg! And to signify it, we see Vincent writing his diary about tipping points, and often people don't know what they were until they pass it? We see a flash of the possible tipping points that have come to pass- is it the loss of the stabilizing influence of Hayley, since that leads to Klaus coming back? Or Rebekah turning down Marcel, so now there's nothing for him but NOLA? Then the ep ends with it raining blood down on him, which obviously can't be good!

The Expanse- I swear, these eps are shorter than normal, because there seem to be so many commercial breaks. But yeah, finally Draper and Chrisjen meet up with the Rocinante crew! But only at the end, so argh, we'll have to wait until next week to see what comes of that.

But yeah, Bobbie and Chrisjen get seen by a UNN destroyer, who gives chase. The problem is, Bobbie can't push the ship to its limits because it will kill Chrisjen. And they can't call for help because they're being jammed. But, her suit has a wide band IFF that she can use to contact Martian naval vessels- which isn't ideal because she's being labeled a deserter and Chrisjen is an Earth diplomat who is prolly public enemy #1 right now.

But who can also pick up Martian IFF broadcasts? The Roci! Not only that, the ship used to be Julie Mao's, so that's too much of a coincidence for Alex or Naomi to ignore. Holden just wants to go to Io, claiming they need to do right by Prax. So Prax gets the deciding vote, and he votes to go help the ship.

And so they do. It gets a little hairy thanks to an unsecured tool locker releasing tools which almost kills Prax and Amos on separate occasions during the high G maneuvers. After, Amos doesn't buy Prax's reasoning of, he couldn't live with himself to screw over other people for his own needs. Because it is BS- as much as he loves his daughter, he's fearful of what she's become and is scared to see what he'll find, so he's doing anything he can to delay. Amos tells him to suck it up, his daughter needs him.

Other stuff- yeah, speaking of Prax's daughter, Mao is at the facility, all ready to scrap everything for the trouble its caused him, but his head scientist guy says that would be a mistake. Whatever rare genetic disease Prax's daughter and a few other kids have for growing up on Ganymede has is making the protomolecule stable in them.

Oh, and the UN president (excuse me, Secretary-General) Sorrento-Gillis invites an old friend, Anna to help advise him during this crisis. She's a do-gooder bleeding heart running a free clinic, and I'm sure her presence is throwing a monkeywrench in Errinwright's plans.
